Read about it on Retired on Golden Pond   I am not sure if I am running the direction of multi-tasking or writing about too many distractions.   On the Golden Pond Blog it was about too much TV watching.  When you think about it there are a lot of distractions in our lives and we seem to multi-task through most of them.  Things are different at our current house because we are still not set up all the way.   At the last house,  if I was cooking I either had the TV on in the kitchen for noise, or the stereo play

'REVOLUTION' 24 x 30  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: Another Oldie Goldie. Tomorrow I return to my easel after about a two week break. God is good and I know I am ready to come back and create some new things....it is an open book and a new step every day... take out those paints and let the flow, run, drip, glob and make art happen. The Thought :  Expiration Date.... we were at the store and I was checking expiration dates on things to make sure Murphy's Law did not encourage me taking something home that we could not eat. I hate returning things... so much trouble to keep up with receipts and then remembering to take it with you on the next trip there. Expiration Dates... do we have those on our gifts from God?    I tell Crystal daily she has to use her gifts.  We are just beginning to identify them, but the child of my heart has a huge heart to want to lo

'Young Arabian' Large Horse Arabian Painting by Laurie Pace

'Young Arabian' 30 x 30 inches Mixed Medium Acrylic on Canvas Contact me to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2009 The Picture : Playing in paint again with layer of acrylic and varnish. The background are wipes of quinacridone Orange and then subsequent layers of whites and different values of the orange, tinted with bits of green gold and red. The Thought : At this moment I could close my eyes and go back to sleep. Not a bad idea. Yesterday I was up at five and road into Grapevine with Terry to meet my daughter. We did the "open open open" in front of Khols and then made a few other shopping stops along the way. I anticipated my eldest needing sheets for his son's new bed and Stacey and I bought sheets, blankets etc to make it nice. I cannot wait to go and visit. Often we make preparation ahead for what is happening in our lives. The main trick would be to make preparation spiritually for lies ahead. God wants us always rea

Rugged Color 2006 15 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Private Collector Europe Contact me for commissions: Laurie © Laurie Pace Graphics One Design 2006 " When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?' He said to him, 'Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed my lambs.' " John 21:15 The Posted Painting: A struggle between palette knife and color and the color won out. This is one of my earlier horse paintings from 2006. We are still recovering from the storms here and not much painting is happening right now. My thought for the day: Partnerships are great. Think of what positives comes from having someone working with you toward a goal. That could be a spouse, a business partner, a teacher and student, a minister and his flock, or you and God. There are many possible combinations. When there are two together, they stand stronger than one. When
Hesitant Contemporary Horse Equine Art by Laurie Justus Pace 12 x 12 inches of acrylic on canvas Contact Kevin at the Gordon Phillips Gallery . "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." Psalms 9:10 "My love is warmer than the warmest sunshine Softer than a sigh. My love is deeper than the deepest ocean, Wider than the sky My love is brighter than the brightest star That shines every night above And there is nothing in this world That can ever change my love." Petula Clark This was one of the first songs my children every heard me belting out when they were young. It was my resounding declaration that my love was forever through the good and the bad. Ya know if I knew then what I know now, I might not have sung this song quite so loud. Do you remember playing those games of "How much do you love me?" and they would throw their little arms open as wide as they could and tell me "
Ready to Travel Contemporary Art Mixed Medium Horse Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Thank you! Contact me to purchase: Laurie Yes, I know I am late posting. But below is yesterday's painting finished!! And above the one I was working on this morning that is almost finished. Yesterday Terry finished up sheet rock in our bedroom where last March the electrician had blasted through to rewire the house. It has been a long time coming to get that completed. Still needs one more coat of paint, but last night he and I worked dusting and cleaning the bedroom so we could fall into bed! Still need to clean the fan AND the upper deck/loft is FULL of dust from sanding. Next will be the other ten places that need to be finished up! Morgan was over yesterday too, and he hung lights in the garden room for the holidays. I may leave them up as they are white lights and very pretty how he did them. I attempted to take pictures but my camera can't quite capture them at night and when
THE JOURNEY Contemporary Art Daily Painting Horse Art by Laurie Justus Pace 10 x 10 In process...not yet finished but close. Contact me if you are interested: Laurie ONLY a quick blog as we are heading out to the Barber Shop and then Lowes and then home to work. Did not make lunch yesterday as Annie, the older Kerrie Blue, decided she was ready for an outing and outed out of the backyard. It took us two hours of searching to find her and then 20 min to catch her. We were both worn out by that time and in no mood to eat lunch as our breakfast was still bouncing around in our stomachs! Closing out. That is my message this morning. Do you close people, places or things out of your life? Do you avoid things on purpose and not get involved? Sometimes we do this out of anxiety or fear that we do not fit in or we are not good enough. We justify it in our minds with other thoughts like "I just don't have time." or "I will try it next week." or "I don'
FURY THREE Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 3 Canvas totaling 54 x 27 inches (18 x 27 inches each) SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! THANK YOU Last year I painted four sets of these horses...three coming out at you in colors with the thick ridged paint from the palette knife. This is my first set this year to sell. I did one commission set that is mailing out today to the buyer in Illinois. Have already made my list for today of what must be done AS always. Sometimes with the hubby involved it may not occur as I hoped! We went to pick up wheels for the boat and trailer out in Justin yesterday afternoon. We left at three, we made it out there about six and we got home about ten. There were many stops in between, but the boats are home. Today we have to return unused items for trying to get the boats. Only the Lord brought those boats home on angel wings. Angel wings...humm, that is a pretty cool thought. I know my mom used to say something about letting God drive the car, but I a
