Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry Into Values Zow... really going back to 2004 still. This was of a group of motorcyclists from a Church Riding group in Argyle.  Wish I had a better picture that was not so fuzzy. This is not one of my best pieces but it is in my heart.  I guess it is the state of our nation, or maybe I should say the LACK of the state of our nation.  I will not address politics, but I will address the growin

"You grow up readin' about pirates and cowboys and spacemen and stuff, and jus' when you think the world's full of amazin' things, they tell you it's really all dead whales and chopped-down forests and nuclear waste hangin' about for millions of years. 'Snot worth growin' up for, if you ask my opinion.”  ― Neil Gaiman, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch Things are never as they seem.  This is an old... wait for it... contour drawing watercolor added piece from 2004

When you are raw, you are always ready and when you are ready you usually realize that you are raw. Waiting for perfection is not an answer, one cannot say "I will be ready when I am perfect" because then you will never be ready, rather one must say "I am raw and I am ready just like this right now, how and who I am.” ― C. JoyBell C. I found an old file from 2004 and in it were some images of paintings from 2004.  I had some that were showing both beginning and ending steps.  I miss painting

Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” ― Lao Tzu It is not bad but it is not exactly where I want to be... but I am going to press on with this.  her face is way way too tight. Yes, she is at Disney, her second most favorite place on earth next to home.   I may experiment with my horses with this approach, but I am determined to get somewhere with the figurative

His love is infinite and unconditional.  If we stray from the path, He will call to us for us to find our way back to Him.  Even in the times you cannot see to find Him, He does not fai

S. Lewis There was a story to this painting.  I have two versions of it.  The first one 24 x 30,  sold off ebay ten years ago.  One of the bidders was so upset not getting it that she bought another painting I had up at the same time..   I would not know that this collector would be diagnosed with brain cancer five years later and would die within that year.  Her husband contacted me two years later to repaint a large version of this painting for him to hang in their home.  He missed her so much and only he knew how much

I know I have.  I am not a quitter and it really takes something I have repeatedly tried to do for me to walk away.  I do not ever remember giving up but once or twice in my entire life.  The why for me is simple.   I know when I question God about good coming from my feeble attempts to accomplish something... I need to stop questioning and start praying for Him to step in and lead the way. I can

We do not grow chronologically...

We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.” ― Anaïs Nin Layering. I want to sit here and see what comes through praying on the words The Layering. When I paint I work in layers of color. Sometimes I work dark to light and sometimes light to dark. OR I could work values to values, or
