" Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. " 2 Corinthians 4:16 Stop Trying to figure it all out. Depending on your childhood and your genetic make up, each of us absorbs mannerisms and coping skills from those near and dear to us. My personal experience created me into a person who likes to solve and fix things. I also learned from my mother, to be a caretaker. What about you?  In our home lives growing up, we have hundreds of experiences every day, repeat it through every week, as well as this first years of our lives. this is the foundation of who you are as a person, how you think things out, and how you respond to the people and situations around you.  As you mature, and go out into the world, you have become an established force of natur

Everyone has work or duties each day, and no one has the same work. To you or me, we may think someone else has ‘greater work’ than we do. Created by our Father, we each have our own set of gifts woven straight in our DNA. We each have a part to do, and no one else can do our part…we must do it.  Some have made the commitment to God without holding back, and those have soon found they live contented without any reserve,  for they live abiding with Him and seeking only what He wills, and they desire to do for Him whatever He desires them to do. They live a simple life without worry or being over worked, because they have chosen to be lead by what God has provided. In this state they find fullness with what is given. In our wack-a-day world this is unheard of.  We all want a sense of peace eac

In confidence and trust you have never failed me when I have come to you in need. Things often appear against us, but we must remember your work is not complete.  I cannot bring good out of evil for you or me in the end, but you Lord can and you do. This must be left up to you Lord. Not my will but yours. You Lord, find the specific blessings for each of us. I ask that you surround and place your hand on those facing sadness or troubles. Please help them find a blessing in the darkness surrounding them. Do not let them bear this alone. Provide faith and comfort as they endure the days ahead. Guide each of us Lord to make the best of our home to be a sanctuary worthy of your love and abide in us each day and through the night.  May we provide refuge and strength to those in need.  Allow us

Night Fall 2024 Learning to Trust what we cannot see.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 First Day of 2024 Fades to Night Skies  by Laurie Pace   It is the end of that day again…the very first day of the new year. It has slipped into darkness with a cold wind out of the north.  Good food and great company made the day seem fuller.  Terry cooked up the black eyed peas and I made black bean meatballs and mashed potatoes.  It was delicious with cold slaw and cornbread! As evening darkens we pray we all learn to trust what we cannot see.  Give us light in this evening where shadows have crept in during the day.  May God’s love stream light around them and chase them away. 2023 has ended and for some, this year, challenged with illness, fears, pain and death, tears were shed with losses and trials. In the trials faced it is impossible to see your love Father. Give us faith not to doubt. Give us hope that you will see us through.  Give us your assurance that all is working in our best interest.  Explode this year with

This past week’s journey took us to the Tone Guitar Shop in Southlake. I have been in there a half dozen times, looking or with someone buying a guitar.  It was to be an expedition as I decided to trade in two of my guitars for one newer something. This is the only place to go. Everyone there is one of the best I have worked with.  I laughed over this photo…I had them all trying to find my guitars for values and they had each picked them up and played them and truly felt the beauty of them….and to work they went.   The photo was my second trip of three to accomplish this.  I have an injured arm, my right arm is out of commission until I go through Physical therapy. Richard, the far left on the photo has worked with us many times…when I arrived the second day, he played several guitars for me,

We all have seen happy moments, experiencing joy and laughter, and we all have seen pain, sorrow and even death, losing a loved one.  Our true trust and belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, provides us with His unfailing love, His unending mercy and His forgiveness when we repent and rest in Him.  If I was painting ‘this year’ I would tie this all into layers of color and overlays of the “ best and worst”  all meshing and blending to create this “2023 painting”, keeping part of the realism of events and still loosing them to the abstract thoughts that remain.  In Repentance and Rest… In Quietness and
