And spare my people—this is my request.  For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king. " Esther 7:3-4 TREES Refraction is the bending of light (it can happen with sound, water and other waves) as it passes from one transparent substance into another.  Trees are a passion for me especially in winter just as spring hits. The spirit and the shape of branches of each tree is unique.  The painting was to celebrate the beauty of the design of the bra

"Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few."    Ecclesiastes 5:2 Are you Hard Wired? The year was 2008 I do remember painting this beauty above- the horse. A one and only. One of my favorite collectors bought it even before I put it online in my store. She always checked my blog as I would post in process pictures of what I was working on! Not sure what took me this direction, but that was the joy of painting back in that day.   Posting work in an auction situation.  The work always calls to a heart or two or three and it allowed the paintings to sell and me to paint more. Yes not everything sold at a high price, but most of my horses did.  I am rememb

I loved the home we lived in there. Plenty of room and large ones too... on two acres with a creek on the back. This is where I put down my brushes and Impressionism and took up a knife with my buttery oil paints. Again you see lots of red with orange and yellow. Contrast built with accents of blue and green and purple. Opposites on the color wheel.     It was

Come! Let us worship and bow down; let us kneel in the presence of the Lord, who made us.“   Psalm 95:5-6   River Crossing The year was 2005 IT IS THE HORSES!  We lived in Justin, Texas when I painted this one. All in knife work and every horse has his individual personality. I love the way the sunset light fell upon the back of the horses... and their reflection in the water.  What do you think? Did you notice it is RED YELLOW AND BLUE?  These are primary colors and the horses contain the golden browns.    You can compare this to earlier paintings this week where the pull of the knife was vertical. In the painting the pulls are horizontal.  My horses are going to

For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
