Where the Buffalo Roam Abstract Contemporary Buffalo painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Where the Buffalo Roam 30 x  40  inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This could have been painful...but it was definitely paint-ful. This piece was a special painting for someone in Colorado that is a huge supporter, alumnae of University of Colorado at Boulder...and they wanted buffalo.  The first paint was aimed at several landscape photos shared with me and the idea of wanting a sunrise in the painting.  Even after the discussion of painted pulls go up and down and landscapes go sideways, I proceeded joyfully with lush colors and thick paint. As you can see from the slideshow... the painting changed to the more contemporary pull painting of my horses but this screw up was mine... those buffalo look like the UT longhorns... gotta he

When You Wish Upon a Star, Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 When You Wish Upon a Star... 32 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This painting has been in holding part of a show and this is the first time I have to share it with you. This painting almost sums up 2013 but it was painted in June last year. It was so darn much fun to paint this one... the energy was huge in the studio, music was country and a mix of gospel... and the colors just fell into place exactly like I felt... the dark of night and the light from above providing the path.  We had just returned to the DFW area almost a year ago. It was March 25th and I still marvel at the wonder of being home and closer to family.  God is good, all the time, God is good. This painting is available through Davis&Co Gallery in Spring, Texas. The Gallery has it's grand opening the last weekend in March.  I hope to see you there then.  For God hath

Water Play Horse No. 9 in 100 Horse paintings by Texas Artists Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Water Play 28 x 56 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  A bit more whimsical with this one but I really liked the way the paint moved and literally I saw the horse. Subtle earth tones and suggestive paint paths create a harmonious balance for the eye. Hurried on time today... painting is calling me.  My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18 KJV #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter.      © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Spring 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD Available Paintings by L Pace   Usually my paintings are bright and full of contrast. This morning's painting is thick and rich with energy contrast in the pulls of paint. Some of the paint is a quarter inch deep.  This will take until late March before it can ship, but this horse painting is available, along with others directly on my website, or visit my galleries for larger paintings. Terry has been busy up in the garage. We have an attic space up there but only a tiny crawl space to get up there from the garage. Inside the house we have a huge walk up access to another attic area, but this one is special.  He intends to put a door in a room that backs up to this huge space and make this area a huge closet. It is actually large enough to be a full reading room or play room for a child. Not sure where he gets the strength to be up the

I have been working on a buffalo painting and of course these are some of the strongest colors in the painting and I had 'leftovers' on my palette.  There is a natural flow to both the color and the movement which is really neat to me as I rotated the canvas adding colors not really paying attention to the patterns or overlays. The composition is as strong as the single horse as a strong foundation behind the 'etching' of the horse.  Touches of Lavender, reds, oranges, mauves and turquoise season the painting. 9 x 12 inches, this freshly painted oil is Horse #7 in this years 100 Horses for $100, but please note NOT in 100 days.  These are so creative and magical to me as I paint them, I want to keep them fresh and unforced. This is a second series, with the first 100 horse series bein

Blue Range, Abstract Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Blue Range 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas.  Available Here.  This was part of the three paint from left over Acrylics as well. The colors are stronger and the layers are higher.  There is a tussle and a compromise with the color palette and the movement of the knife.  Compromise is something important in life as well... finding a compromise means adapting to the needs of someone else. A lesson open to the current generation is really stuck on the selfies. Growing away from self and opening your life and heart to serving others leads to happiness. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1John 4:4 #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards    GALLERY

Settled In. Finding Joy. Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Settled In 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD Available Here.  I have been working on the Buffalo painting and will start posting my progress on it by Monday. These are small  equine paintings that are done with a palette knife that I did this week. I hope you enjoy them. This is another horse painting that evolved from a layer of left over acrylics... dried and then layering of the same colors in oils and then the horse.  Isn't that what our lives are about? Layering of experience in making up who we are?  Do we really ever get settled into life?  Seems like we are always wanting more, waiting for things to change, hoping tomorrow is better, when in reality we only have this moment at this time to find our joy. #horsepainting    #lauriepaceart  #equineart   There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. Horse 4 Meadow Gaze 9 x 12 Oil Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Meadow Gaze  9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD Available This started with an acrylic base of left over paint from Tuesday night. It was dry and I began to layer on oils to match the formation of the acrylic and then I began to see the horse standing so silently in the meadow with a ray of light shining on him. What is not to love about painting... the color, the energy and the delight of creating.  Sharing part of my creativity is really sharing the gift that God blessed me with.  I am enjoying these small pieces again and hope one finds its way into your heart. #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #contemporaryart Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. Beginnings with Light and Warmth, Contemporary Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Beginnings 30 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD  I know it seems discouraging to see SOLD on the painting before I start, but I have to for Daily Painters. This is a specific piece for a specific friend... a brother in faith with me and he carefully chose the Bible verses for the foundation of the painting. I coated the canvas with a tan ivory acrylic to prepare the surface. The verses are in black acrylic.  As I begin the oils today this will slowly become the foundation that you will not see, but you will know it is there. He and his wife will know it is there.   I truly have no preconceived idea how this painting it going to work .Eric sent me photos of the area around Boulder, Colorado... from mountains, to sunrises, sunsets, images that capture the glory of God in each and every one of them. As I looked over everything sent to me, I realized how important 'light' will be to this

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Whirlwind 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas.  Available by clicking here. Reposting this one. It is dry and ready to travel to a new home. It was painted in early January and had been sketched on the canvas for about six months before I finally painted it.  Laced with color, contrast, thick paint and lots of energy, this unusual horse painting is ready to take off with your heart. Yesterday was Stacey's birthday... my daughter turning 37. We had a girl day at the salon with highlights, cuts and the works. Even Lady L got to participate. Then it was a wonderful early birthday dinner with family for her special gathering and then back to our house for cake prepared by Kelly and Morgan.  It was a 'yummy' day and we are so blessed. Needless to say, I did not step into the studio or down at my computer the entire day.  I have a new piece on the easel and tomorrow will post the
