Christmas Joy 2010 From Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.   ~Janice Maeditere Christmas Joy on Christmas Eve We spent Christmas Eve at my mother's house. My granddaughter, aka "Tinkerbelle" aka the "Tink" had on her Party Dress. We went from Mom's to my brother Kirk's for his annual Christmas Eve party. He and wife Leslie absolutely have the BEST FOOD IN DALLAS on Christmas Eve at their house.  Tink was the hit of the party. More for later. I am up early before she is up to see her Santa this morning. You will have to wait for Santa pictures. May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!  ~Author Unknown God Bless you all and Merry Christmas. Laurie “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6

Not much blogging will occur over the next few days as we are immersed in the love and light of Christmas making memories. From our house to yours... wishing you the light of the season in your life from this moment on. Blessings this weekend as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus. This is our 'Tinkerbell' Merry Christmas.   Laurie   “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”” - L

Sometimes I think I am a screw up. Sometimes I think I am undeserving.  I could go on but will stop there.  We are all susceptible to thoughts like this. We are human. We are able to go negative pretty quick on ourselves.  Our feelings get hurt and we get frustrated. We allow this to happen. We bring it on ourselves and we use it to validate our feelings at that time.  It is simply not true.  Keep yourself focused on the beauty God has placed in your from your moment of con

" A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth aligns between a full moon and the sun, blocking any sunlight from reflecting off the moon's surface." One of the articles I read was how someone commented that God gifted us with a beautiful early Christmas present.  I could not agree more.    That inspired me to tuck the red moon into the background of this painting.  Artists always tell the story; Artists alway record history.  I wanted to make sure I recorded a bit of red mo

We also took books into the library to donate them.   I will be experimenting on some smaller paintings as we will be traveling again in the spring and summer and I want to take acrylics and this easel with me to use as we go.  Open your minds right now and think of things to allow into your life.  Take a risk for the positive even if it seems unreachable or unfamiliar.   It is time this year to take out some index cards, at least ten of them and on five of them write down one thing on each card that you NEED.  Then write on the other five cards one thi

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards Monday Monday...it is that day. I am determined to finish wrapping the last four gifts, deliver boxes of books to the town library as donations and finish getting my studio cleaned up today.  I am in search of a new tool box to hold my stuff... a large one on wheels. My wire one on wheels is about dead. I remember when I bought it back in 2003 and was SOO worried because it cost $350 for it at the Container Store. Little did I know it would be worked so hard over the past six years and the little wheels won't stay on it and it leans like a tower bending.  It groans when I pull open the drawers. Yes, time for a few adjustments here and there and what better time than to be ready for the new year. Shed all of the STUFF that you do not need in 2010. Go through those

Terry has been on the phone collecting missing emails.  I simply did not get to make cards this year and this is what we are doing. The positive thing is there are lots of pictures going out in the letter to friends and family. Beautiful weather found us delivering the remaining of our bread basket gifts to our friends out in East Texas.  It is fun to go visiting and see all the homes decorated for Christmas.  My favorite was Jacque's old registered prairie farm house. WOW... I need to take the camera with me next time. Tucked in the woods off a country road, it is a living piece of history. Last night we watched Miracle on 34th Street . Have you seen it this year?  It gets better every

She cried when we left... she thought she should be with us.  THAT was hard. She is a love.  Watch for more pictures....I took some before we left yesterday of her in her pajamas... it was pj day at school yesterday. When I think of this painting and the slow build up on layers of buttery Holbein Oils... I think of our lives and how experiences build up for us to develop character, just as this painting bu

Have to go by Asel Art and pick up some supplies and pick up a 5 ft by 5 ft canvas for a new commission piece for a collector in Arizona.  I hope I get to meet her. May have to deliver the painting to meet her and her horse. Meanwhile, Terry and I did make it to ADAMS furniture in Justin Texas. The best place to buy furniture in this area.  Hometown like for sure.  We picked out a queen size mattress and it will be made and delivered to Stacey's next week so we will have a good bed to sleep on for the holidays. We had lunch at Chicken Express and TINK loved it.  After that home for a nap (three hours) back to the store where we bought ca

Baby was up at 4:30 this morning and that was after the cat came in at 1:30 and woke us up to the point of Terry jumping out of bed and hitting all the lights on trying to strangle the cat.  Las

Yes, you have to be responsible for your actions and your in-actions, but you have a choice on what to spend time on in your mind.  What truly matters in your life right now?   My thoughts are just beginning to wrap around the idea that maybe if I acknowledge the prosperity in my life right now, I can be assured of His simple abundance. I choose to tell mys

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards We were surprised with a Christmas Card from someone dear to us that lives far away.   The image of the kids and the parents smiling for the traditional card made my heart warm and brought a huge smile from Terry when I shared the picture.  I pulled out the 'newsletter' included and began reading about the past year for the two young ones, happily sharing the details with Terry as I read. A first broken bone, speech therapy, basketball, baseball, Playhouse Disney etc.   There was a point my voice broke and I stopped reading.  The tears were falling and the world seemed to turn upside-down.   The youngest son, only age 3, was diagnosed in October with a rare form of kidney cancer, Wilms Tumor .  Terry and I prayed
