Stride Contemporary Art Horse Equine Daily Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD as it posted! Thank you. 18 x 24 x 2 inches Contact me to purchase. Laurie "But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever." Psalm 52:8 I am going to remind you to count your blessings today. If you must, make a list so you can see them all. Don't leave anything out. God has blessed each of us richly in this life, but most of the time we see what we do not have and what we think we need, instead of thanking Him for what is in our lives at this moment. Once you realize the great riches you do have, share them. Take time from your day today to phone someone that might need to hear from you. You may need to share comfort or encouragement, or you might need to share hospitality. Open your heart or open your home. Share what has been given to you that others so desperately need. Take nothing for granted. Staying open and aware

Psalm 25:10 Terry has taken on the task to help me with exercising. I found when he holds my ankles I can do a better sit up... doesn't hurt my neck as much. Today he had me doing Jack LaLanne exercises that all the house wives did in the fifties, including his mother. Somehow my mother missed that show. I remember Queen for the day, but not watching Jack very often. ANY way, he has me sitting in one of the kitchen chairs, holding on to the chair and keep my feet elevated and bringing my knees up to my chest. I can tolerate about six of these at a time. BURNING in the thighs...and some tummy to get out of the way. It is a start and I am so appreciative of his help right now. Jack talks about our b

Laurie "Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in truth; ;give me an undivided heart to revere your name." Psalm 86:11 Sometimes in life it seems things are going along in a survivable fashion and WHAM, situations change in an instant. Often we will react immediately to the WHAM, having no choice but to do what instinctively comes to mind and to action. More often in life things take a turn to change, and altho it may be sudden, we have time to consider the overall situation and think about how we should react. This could be anything from discovering a new baby is on the way to receiving a diagnosis concerning your health, or unexpected financial challenges...like our dropping stock market. This is when we take the time to turn to thought before we react. We have a choice in all matters, and

One of my favorite moans is WHY? I really draw out the word when I say it and add in an expressive whine to go with it. Things just seem to happen that are off the wall or sometimes what I term as discouraging. Time to change the whining tune of "why" and make it ..."Thank You." Even though I do not have any clue "why" I am thanking God for the "WHY?" situation... I need to approach it in a different direction. I tend to be self focused and o

Isaiah 46:10 Why are you here? Have you ever wondered why you are here on earth, or what your purpose is? I know many people who never even entertained that thought as they are really into enjoying their life and the pleasures of life around them. Personally I believe God created each of us for a purpose. In this lifetime it is our goal to find things that fulfill the purpose of our being. As we are knitted together in our mother's womb, God has put together the genetics that are required for us to live this life. There is a wide variety of personalities in our one family alone. Some recognizable traits are there and others are not. Being in the right place at the right time will result in everything falling together as it is meant to be. Our talents and contributions wi

Acts 14:22 We have all heard the story about the young boy that found a cocoon. He watched as it struggled for over an hour trying to force the butterfly out of the small opening. The boy was truly upset and distressed so he ran inside the house and found a pair of scissors. He hurried back to clip the remaining bit of the cocoon to free the butterfly. His smile turned immediately to tears as he saw the butterfly. It had a swollen body and small shriveled wings. He crossed his fingers and hoped it would change and begin flight off into the air. Laurie "I will never leave you or forsake you." Joshua 1:5 Happy Birthday Ben! To the man in my life with the sweetest whistle and always a smile and a good story to share. I have been writing much about the wonderful friendships I have in my life, both male and female. I believe friends to be God's promise keepers to each other. The power of friends coming together in His name honors God. Good friends will never leave you or forsake you. Friends are life givers when you need them. In return you should be a life giver back to them. Jan wrote to me about the different stages of friends in her life, from the early friends as a child, through the first married friends, and onto the middle age and old age friends. She described the joy of her adult children becoming friends to her as well. Friends are an honored r

Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." John 15:15 Do you value your friends? Some of them are closer than others. Loving intimate friendships that grow over time are the ones that survive the good and bad times. Those friends are often the ones that bring calm to our lives. Leave it to a good friend to celebrate all the different victories in our lives, small and large. The connection to this wonderful person crosses all boundaries and often fills the emptiest part of us. It is that friend that sticks to you through thick and thin. Genesis 9:11-13 Don't you often think about the storms that roll through your life and the battles you fight against the heavy rains and winds? Laurie " Because of this, in fact, I suffer as I do. Timothy 1:12 When I woke up with a leg cramp at 3:30 this morning, in my prayer time I came across the thought of... Are you a participant or a victim? Okay, so those are weird thoughts for that time of wee hours, yet when I think of living life as a believer I am a participant in God's plan. I am never a victim. I work on finding the positive side of everything and constantly buff off my rose color glasses. A victim is an unfortunate person who suffers from some adverse circumstance. In our lives God definitely confronts each of us with adverse circumstances....are you a participant or a victi
