THE PAINT Horse Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches SOLD Contact me to purchase: Laurie We are back from Marble Falls and a relaxing time with Marnie and John at Patina. It was a wild ride home....we went a new way in the dark...and remember that AFTER you watch the slide show! Last night on the way home from Marble Falls, we decided to take the back way home. We had done it quite often when Morgan was in school at ST Edwards in Austin, but that was 4 or 5 years ago. We left around 5:30 and headed north on the Highway. We truly enjoyed the small towns we drove through as well as the gorgeous sunset to the west. We drove into Hico around seven and it was growing dark. We stopped to grab a snack for the car and headed out but I think we went the wrong direction. Terry had studied the map but we missed a quick turn turn to cut out about 15 miles and we suddenly were heading into Stephenville and I knew we were NOT suppose to be there at all. We eventua
GLORY Horse Oil Palette Knife Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 inches of very thick paint. SOLD! Oct 16, 2008 Contact me to purchase and mention the title of the painting: Laurie It is only six thirty this morning. Terry is still sleeping soundly and I am up to blog. At least we did sleep last night sort of...they had a king room but the location was by that noisy ice machine that kept us awake the last time we stayed here. This is a huge resort. Problem this weekend which we did not anticipate because of Texas OU weekend, is there are four wedding parties here. This resort is packed. They found us a quiet room on the seventh floor, water front view, very nice, but only two double beds. not even queen. I think it is like the second side of a suite or something. So we started out on two beds, and of course after all these years of marriage, that didn't work. So we crammed together on one bed. I had the smaller side. The opening at Patina last night was wonderful.

Guitar Six Pack Yellow Guitar Guitar Oil Painting with Palette Knife By Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie Yesterday I did not paint. Today I hope to paint as we prepare for our departure to Marble Falls. I am way excited to be apart of this show and seeing so many new faces and some old ones as well. Marnie wrote me that Jim and Marilee Heister will be there. They are neighbors from my childhood. I just moved back to the neighborhood where Terry and I grew up...and I always wondered where they were and where their daughter Layne is. She was two years younger than me but we were the same tall height and shared our closets. It was nice. With so much bickering on the tv with campaign ads and the debates...my ears burn and my stomach churns. I do not talk politics and will not here, but I will address forgiveness. The folks involved here have much to ask of each other as they all continue to fill the airways with their claims. When we do complain of other
FROM THE WEST Palette Knife Horse Art Contemporary Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches of creamy oils. To purchase, please contact me and mention the name of the painting. Laurie This morning is not a painting morning. I have to do house cleaning, bed sheet changing (Three beds) dusting, etc. At Noon it is hair time to make sure all is well for the weekend in Marble Falls. The painting above was like something from a dream. The colors are very unique, the horse is there and yet not there... the colors of Nevada seem to thread through the painting. NOT the dry colors but the warm colors. Can you feel it? I know I have shared many times I have rose glasses. That is the only way I can view the world and people, always seeking the best of what is there in both people and situations. Terry said he would engrave it on my tombstone..."She lived her whole life wearing her Rose Colored Glasses." I often pride myself on this ability. BUT, pride goeth before the fall.
Molly and Jerry Colorful Cow Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD OFF DAILY PAINTERS! THANK YOU! 9 x 12 inches of color Contact me to purchase. Laurie Woke up early. We had storms last night and I guess it disrupted the sleep pattern a bit. The dogs are restless. I put them out and of course the grass is wet so they have to do their business right outside the door. When daylight hits I will be out there scrubbing the patio. Terry is sleeping. He seems really tired for some reason. I do not think he feels well. We are both pretty worn out from life the past two weeks. My show in Marble Falls has crept up suddenly. I still have not made room reservations and will do that today. I need to get all the paintings ready to travel as well. We will not be gone long though, Terry is only going to take two days off from work for the trip. Stacey felt life this weekend with her pregnancy. It is so much fun to watch her experience these changes in her body. The best is yet to come. Go
MORNING BLAZE Abstract Oil Palette Knife Painting Horse ART by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Contact me to purchase: Laurie Only a quick thought this morning and I know it is late. Just returned from delivering Morgan back to his apartment. We had to get his stitches out of his head this morning. Terry and I just arrived back home and face massive boxing for the afternoon. The house is quiet and our visitors are all gone. Then preparations for the Show that opens in Marble Falls on Friday evening. It has been raining since five this morning and it is really something we needed here in the area. God is good in His wisdom and He always provides. May your day be filled with joy. It is there waiting to be found, waiting for that smile to crack across your face, and the full release of breath from your tense body. Grace, Laurie “Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:4
Colors One Horses Five SOLD A Painting a Day Painting day! Yes, I will be working on some Arabians today and some Appaloosas as well. Have some images I need to get roughed out on canvas. When thinking and praying this morning about thoughts to share I was remembering the parable where the owner of a vineyard needed workers to pick the grapes. He hired workers early in the morning, late morning, noon and mid afternoon. Even at the dinner hour he was still hiring workers just before quitting time at Six. It didn't matter what time of day the owner hired the worker, he gave the same pay to each of them. Think about those pros and cons. If I was the 8 am hire on worker and I put in 10 hours and I found out you were hired in at five in the afternoon and only worked one hour and we go the same pay.. yeah I think I would be a bit upset. That is how our society seems to work on a whole. Everyone out for their own survival. God seeks us out full time. He seeks out the good, the bad and
MARILYN AND FRIENDS Guitar Music ART with Palette Knife by Laurie and Morgan Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD COMMISSION Contact Me for commission pieces. Laurie Paint, something I did NOT do yesterday and for the next two days we are blessed with two 14 year old guests in the house. I promised them they could paint today, but I have to clean up before we can mess up. I wonder if God think about that with us too. He is constantly trying to clean up our messes and just as He begins to right our world, we always take off on another tangent with one of our desires; not our needs, but our wants jumping in. The infamous line, "Is it a need or a want?" that was common with the kids growing up. As adults we should stop and ask ourselves that same question. What direction are we heading in? What do we NEED, not want. How can we serve the "needs" of those around us and in our community? Most of us tend to go off on these tangents of want involving ourselves in d
NIGHT FLIGHT Abstract Horse Oil Painting Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD off Daily Painters! Thank you for your support! 24 x 24 x 2 inches Oil on Canvas. Contact me to purchase, mention the title of the painting: Laurie Friday. Yes I watched the debate last night. Did you? Learning and gaining insight and wisdom should be our job right now. I am watching the economy wavering thinking in my 55 years on earth I have never seen anything like this. I don't think my kids understand how dangerous it is right now. I am not one to panic but rather to gather what I need and make careful decisions with prayer on where to go and what to do. Our future depends on American Airlines for Terry and for me just folks that can still buy artwork. When I think of the parable of the talents from the bible it gives way for reflection. A man calls his servants together in a meeting. He hands each of them some money wanting to see how they will handle the money. One servant received five
DEEP MEMORY Horse Oil Painting with Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD before the paint was set an hour! Contact me for other work: Laurie Good morning Friends! It is five forty this morning as I begin this blog. I am determined to finish a painting after I finish this blog! Morgan is still asleep. We have a doctors appointment this morning to change out his dressings etc. around eight. Then he will be painting the rest of the day. The painting above was one I finished yesterday morning. I knew as I stepped back from it that it was special. I started another to finish today...but yesterday's has such depth to it's beginnings that it is almost alive and breathing with the spirit. Not mine but His that passes through me. All morning yesterday I emailed back and forth with someone concerning my work and purchasing some pieces. When we finally spoke on the phone, they chose the guitar six pack, a commission piece from Morgan and Through the Mist, a painting destined f
The Horse Within Abstract Contemporary Acrylic Horse Palette Knife Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 inches Contact me to purchase and mention title of painting. Laurie Are we sure it is Wednesday? I know I slept last night but I don't know how or why. I am not prepared to blog much this morning with the happenings of yesterday so I will first blog about the painting above. All along I have seen only two horses in it, this morning I saw three. Take some time and study it... you might find four at this rate. Want to add a quick post to have you check out our friend Paul Fletchers two new sites. He is running for sheriff of Franklin County Texas. His blog is www.paulfletcherjr.blogspot.com and his website is www.paulfletcherjr.com I have been reading a book for our CPS license for RESPITE FOSTER credit called hummm , that I don't remember and I sent it to work with Terry today. In the first few chapters it talks about behavior and the basis that there are only two ma
