This was part of a painting that began as two horses sketched on a canvas... paint applied and knifed around... and this beautiful contemporary horse emerging. There were parts I loved and parts that seem weak. It stayed like this about 24 hours and I was back to play with it. This painting no longer exists.  Palette Knife Modern Representational Abstract Horse Painting called Summer Winds.     👉 LIFE 😀💏  "Change" September the month that marks the change from the summer heat here in Texas. Our temps will stay in the 90's most of this month and this week the high nineties.  It was noticeably cooler this morning... but only this morning! 😎  How is it wh

Most people exist, that is all.” Oscar Wilde The dog days of summer in Texas.  Temps are hitting 100 plus but thoughts of September are in the air. I even ordered two new PACT shirts with long sleeves with light weight cotton. Pact makes up 55 -65 percent of my wardrobe. I have worn their clothes for the past 25 years. They are made in India by a woman owned company. Best return policy I have ever seen, and the best quality of anything in my closet.  Their socks are so soft and last for years....  So much of clothing, but it is important in the studio when I work, that I am comfortable and 'washable'!  This particular painting was in progress over the past year and I finally dug it out and finished it.  The paint

I seem to exist between the two.  I did complete the paintings for the new show opening at Mirada Fine Art this next month in Colorado! I promise to share photos as soon as I can.  I am preparing to paint another large piece and probably a face again.    Meanwhile, I just completed a horse on birch above.  My studio does not call me as often as it did. I have spent 23 years painting daily and marketing and at age 68, my other gifts are calling to me.  Piano, guitar, singing, writing etc.   Also, Hubby has been down a bit and I have been busy cooking healthy things for him to feel better.  I did notice this week that this blog still has very high ranking and that is something I am honored by your presence visiting with me here if only to see my art.

I guess it would depend on the length of 'the  future '.  I was teaching Lady L (My granddaughter) about the word 'future'.  It was hard to grasp as we talked about what we would be doing in ten minutes was 'the future'.  The final outcome was that only  God  knows the  future . He has a plan in mind for each of us. We can make our lists of goals and dream of what wonderful things we want in life, but in truth we have ev

Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Winter White Wolf  24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas.    Winter White Wolf is at  Mirada Fine Art  in Denver.  Steve Sonnen can tell you more about this incredible Wolf painting, thick with layers of color and paint.  Mirada has a broad collection of  Laurie Pace’s  signature equine paintings. I started watching some older shows on Netflix because there really is not much on all the cable we pay for that is not full of gun shooting, murder, vampires, and movies filled with panic and bad things happening.   I thought I was safe as I watched reruns of Ally McBeal and Brothers and Sisters. I really like Calista Flockhart and Rob Lowe. I have ordered Rob's latest book to enjoy on upcoming rainy days. I was doing well until I got to the end of Season Three on Brothers and Sisters and Rob's character, probably cast to be about 40, has a heart attack. Just watching his acting with the head
