"It comes in steps before you feel the full power of love surrounding you. Same with this painting... I had an odd beginning with acrylic light layers before the oil joined the circle. I chose horses of course and in their true color of spirit... for me the Spirit of the Paint is God and His unfailing love for us. I bring you Circle of Love to start every day with!"  Elle   CIRCLES Circles are important in our lives. I came across an article on circles. Humans are drawn to the shape and even young babies  prefer Circle to straight lines.  A preference for circular shapes is deeply ingrained in all of us from birth.  "A 2011 eye-tracking study found that at five months of age, before they utter a word or scribble a drawing, infants already show a clear v

" This sweet baby came from an inspiration by Helmut Hussman on FB who shoots photos of wild horses… I may take the inspiration and go different directions than the original in color and background, but the love of horses and their spirit is always foremost!" Elle Tentative - Hesitant Have you ever been hesitant or felt tentative about doing something? The painting change from Oils to Acrylics is where I am at with both words.  I have painted in oils almost exclusively since 1981.  This change is being made for health reasons as well as not having 5-10 paintings hanging around the house trying to dry to send out!  I can tell you back in the days of ebay from 2002 till 2010... I was making over 100k a year and they were all oil. Painting at least 6-7 pie

Come! Let us worship and bow down; let us kneel in the presence of the Lord, who made us.“   Psalm 95:5-6   River Crossing The year was 2005 IT IS THE HORSES!  We lived in Justin, Texas when I painted this one. All in knife work and every horse has his individual personality. I love the way the sunset light fell upon the back of the horses... and their reflection in the water.  What do you think? Did you notice it is RED YELLOW AND BLUE?  These are primary colors and the horses contain the golden browns.    You can compare this to earlier paintings this week where the pull of the knife was vertical. In the painting the pulls are horizontal.  My horses are going to

The Get Away 15 x 30  Oils on Canvas Stolen and Missing from Santa Fe Gallery  by Laurie Pace          ELLEPACE.com Shop other Available Artwork.  Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. " The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. " John 10:10 The Stolen Artwork The year was 2010 It was really called "The Get Away"   and to have it really be 'stolen away' was astonishing. My work was delivered to a gallery in Santa Fe, where several other artists I knew were represented. It was a little bit quirky but seem fine as one of the artists was an Artist of Texas and I had known her quite a few years.  The gallery had on and off problems but I did get paid for sales... then the owner had to travel and left someone there at the gallery... then due to health reasons it was closing and they sent my unsold work back, but no "The Get Away" .  I truly loved this painting. It is

Christmas is less than five days away... the 21st is just 9 hours away. I am working on feeling better faster!!!  I actually slept almost 9 hours last night and I am feeling closer to 85-90 percent better.  I must tell you ZICAM works as does Sambulcol Flu and Cold. Totally surprised.  Christmas is the time for Gathering and that is why I chose this painting to share today, from 2007.     I painted about four in this serious. I am pretty sure if I painted today, I would not have left a large white rear end in the top center of the painting...but it did not last longer than 24 hours on my website.   🤪 My mind has been mulling over using some raw canvas in the closet and cutting off a hunk of it for experimenting.   I want to gesso it at least twice or
