This painting started with a conversation on the flat side of the canvas.  I rotated it over and over and saw many things and shared it on my FB page and everyone made comments about what they saw in it!! You will have to go check it out... From Walrus, to turtles to wolves to more, and I even found a face of a man!!! I was honored this painting sold the first day I put it up.  This is gift buying time and I hope to see increase a bit in sales for the next few months. I better get busy and paint... right? WHERE have I been? Gracious, I was hit with Vertigo really bad and two days into it, a spider bite on my small toe where it connects with the foot. That was three weeks ago and I am still treating it.  Barefoot or flip flops and that does not mesh will with Vertig

This was a work out over two weeks in the studio.  I put up video on FB and Instagram. Cannot figure out how to do it here!  I think it has to be embedded.  It began with soft acrylics to cover the surface...and then a sketch by hand of three horses. Being brave, I began painting in Acrylics but found the painting feeling disconnected or dull.  I whipped out the paints on Sunday  and finished it!  Now I am smiling when I look at the three... the front two take the message....  the middle horse has pulled up tilting his head to the horse on his left (your right) and his eye looking wildly at the red horse.  The third horse is not important other than making the presence of three horses.   Much to Consider Our times are flying past and many of you do

Looking back to June in 2010... I am remembering this was a commissioned horse painting. I had done a series of these colorful paintings of three hors es the year before. It was hot that June in 2010 and I painted it in the back studio of my home overlooking the lake and our catfish pond.   I am up to any commissions if you are ready for something new and 'hot' in your life! " Hot town, summer in the city -  Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty.  Been down, isn't it a pity -  Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city. " 1966 The Lovin Spoonful   Still today, I find myself confronted by unexpected challenges in our daily life  and learning to lean more minute by minute with the Lord.  I know this is happening to many of you, although t

September 2010 in the Hudson River Valley, Herd on the Hudson, A Challenge to Jump by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Herd on the Hudson 24 x 36 inches  Oils on Canvas SOLD  by Laurie Pace   Herd on the Hudson painting was the top feature of the Million Dollar Jumper Competition in Saurgerties, New York in September 2010. It was an exciting five days of competition in one of the most beautiful places in New York in the Hudson River Valley. We drove up from East Texas to enjoy the festivities and Kimberly and Don Conrad flew in from Denver to join us. We were allowed access to areas by the jumpers to film and photograph the horses, we attended many of the extra curricular activities, and we met up with other artists and painters living in that area that we knew from online at The Daily Painters.  It was a tremendous trip. The Conrads joined us at an open field concert by John Fogerty where we sat under cloudy skies with soft rains and occasional bursts of stars.  We spent hours driving the country side for views of the Hudson River

I have not been good at hitting the blog the past few weeks.   There are still health problems with a dear family member and between traveling, keeping up all our home stuff with gardens, mowing, dogs and food, not enough hours in the day! ALSO BEEN CREATING for OUR CRAZY LIFE and I am in AWE! In awe of God's touch in our lives! If you think about it... Read Acts 2:43:  “A deep sense of awe came over them all, and all the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.”  Tomorrow, if I remember... I will share a special piece of art I did back around 1998.  It keeps me in 'awe' thinking of the Lord God and how He is every faithful to us.  More on that tomorrow! With everything going on in our family, we missed updating Our Crazy Life Plus One website.  Have not done instagr
