Jelly Beans? Chocolate Bunnies? Marshmallow Rabbits?  We all sigh thinking of our favorites.  I still

Terry and I were watching the news and they had a New Years suggestion to live one day a week like your grandparents did.  No television, no eating out, no computers, mobile phones, and less car. Make sure eating at home is all home cooked and no prepared foods.  Make sure you walk often and go purposely on walks. Spend time together as a couple or a family.  If you live alone, discover the beauty of life of simplicity. I really li

It is NOT done, but I am studying it closely and waiting for the right time to approach the surface with oils. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 Flowers of Fall 18 x 24 Oil Sold Words of my heart, Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank. Exodus 24: 9-11 The best part of fall and winter is the intense blue of the sky after a cold front moves through. This is the sky this morning... and the few leaves left on my maple after the storms last weekend.  When I gaze up to the 'lapis' blue sky I feel I am at God's door and nothing stands between us...   READ MORE HERE My Blog     My Website       Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards        The Five Graces      The Artists of Texas        Daily Painters        CFAI.co     Artists of Texas Blog      Daily Painte

We ventured into the store yesterday to pick up some chili meat so Terry could make some chili.  I taught piano and then later spent the evening working on this painting above. I have a close to final picture for tomorrow morning to share as well...but step by step is always good.  Where do you find peace in your life?  At night when I wake up and can't go immediately back to sleep I begin to pray. I pray for every one on our prayer list; or I pray for blessings for each person I can remember to bless; or I do my prayer beads quietly in the dark.  This is a time of blessed peace and quiet.  Terry is always asleep when I am awake, and altho I do not want to necessarily be awake, I always praise God d

It never got above 24 degrees outside and I have six floor to ceiling windows and a large glass door that are on the northwest side of the house. BRR.  So I chose to paint on my small easel in the den. Have not been able to convince Terry to build a fire but maybe he will change his mind today. He is already out early this morning walking Paddy the dog.  I declined the invitation to join them as right now it is 16 degrees outside. I am not sure I seek warmth and comfort because it is so cold outside, or if that is just part of being human.  What physical things would make you comfortable right now?  I am smiling at my warm fuzzy slippers and my big furry robe.  If I were a coffe

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website     Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards We were in church yesterday and again I believe that Pastor Pete spoke his words directly to Terry's heart and a family situation we are facing.  The reading was Isaiah 11 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.  The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,    the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD—  and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge  by what he sees with his eyes,    or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness  he will judge the needy,    with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike  the earth with the rod of his mouth;  with the breath of his lip
