This is the granddaughter of one of my dearest friends.  This little girl is the spitting image of her beautiful grandmother.  This was a crazy day photo with her wearing all her favorite colors and the net layered colorful skirt that grandmother brought to her!   Do you remember in your lifetime, being surprised by a gift from a family member that made you feel special?  I do... with several memories and my favorite was a soft yellow sweater at age 3 with tiny rosebuds near the neckline.  We used to be able to smile and greet people with a warm hello. Cannot do that these days. Covid Masks. How about if we used sign language... with our sparkling eyes and the sweet uplifted hand like a salute with a wave?    https://www.babysignlanguage.com Southern men might pull their hat slightl

Scott Fitzgerald.  The Great Gatsby It took a few extra weeks, like six of them, for summer to arrive here in the Dallas Ft Worth area of Texas. The temps the last few weeks were in the 100-105 area with heat index about 10 degrees higher. We had a cool front come through which gave us a few cooler days but we are back over 100 again now.  AUGUST is here.  The painting above was painted last summer when we saw 100 plus for months in a row,  I kept things simple with a simple palette. August is the month I turn my thoughts to September.  At the top of the thought list is Cooler Nigh

Even with vaccines, things remain fuzzy on what is allowed and not allowed. For sure this time is the first darkness we have had hit us that has lasted over a year in length. When our nation was shut down in early March 2020, people were sentenced to stay home with their children and a virus spread across our country. Both Liberals and Conservative have their slant on the last year. For Terry and me, it has brought us closer… closer to God and to each other. Never did we believe we would be tested with times like those from the

Just jumping straight into this painting and the process.  I began with a different surface as I sketched out three horses and began pulling the paint.  It looked painful, so I put it out of its misery and began pulling colors together and flipping the canvas around.   Then I saw the two horses as clear as can be. Forward with more pulled paint and you have Sunrise Friend.  The beauty of these painted ponies is the style. I have been collected for these since about 2005, so over 15 years. I paint other styles of horses and lately really pretty ones on birch. But these paintings are freedom and love knitted together on the surface with intuitive painting and discovery.  Remember on my site right now this year is 199 paintings for $199 each.  I think I am up to abou

This baby was wild fun! Started out stately and a jumper horse and the colors were basically blues, oranges and greens.  I ended up accenting in reds. The paint is ever so thick!  Will take a bit to dry, but grab it now if it calls to you!  I am not sure my brain can blog and paint and list at the same time!  I am usually good about subjects and sharing. Think for now I will keep it to the wild paints!! God always knows! “ For I know the plans I have for you, " Declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. If you have not read it, it was about a young peasant girl that was adopted and in her life she was very vain. She had an old pair of red shoes as a foster child that she loved so much, she had her new foster mother buy her a new pair of red shoes. They were elegant and fit for a princess. Sadly the young girl was so attached to them she would not take them off.  Along the way to church one day a mysterious older man, a soldier with a red beard

Milne   Beneath the branches... beneath the bridge... beneath the stars... God's beauty surrounds us. We should instantly be reminded of Him... He surrounds us with His gifts and creation. Sometimes I wonder how I can forget how He is part of me constantly with all the reminders. He is aware of everything that takes place in our lives. He knows our thoughts before they form in our mind. He knows the words before we speak them.
