Relaxed. Tired. Ready to sleep. Giving up to the therapists and professionals to remold my body back to its natural state. Started with a pedicure and leg massage, followed by a manicure and arm massage and then an hour of full body massage, reflexology and a head massage.  Somewhere along the line I had to give it up. I had to give up the tension and empty my rocks out of all of my pockets. Giving it up and all

Special Offer for my Collectors for my Show at Mirada Fine Art in Denver Colorado, Laurie Justus Pace

Special Offer for my Collectors  for my Show at Mirada Fine Art in Denver Click this image and give it about 10 seconds to load...   Experience the beauty of Pareidolia and my palette knife at work.       From Owner Steve Sonnen: "This is Laurie's way of saying 'thank you' to all the people who supported her in her amazing artistic journey.  Obviously we're excited to present her works to brand new collectors, but it only seemed right to let her long-term collectors see these brand new paintings first.  We also wanted to offer  them a discount if they would like another one of Laurie's masterpieces for their home.  Laurie's 'Pareidolia' exhibition is a celebration of her broad range of abstract contemporary work.  Pareidolia is the phenomena of seeing animals in clouds or faces on the surface of the moon.  It is also what happens when Laurie gazes at her thickly applied strokes of oil paint and begins to visualize equine forms.  As a coll

Wolf Wildlife Oil Painting WISE ONE by Texas Contemporary Wildlife Artist Laurie Pace

WISE ONE Beautiful Wolf Painting with expressive wide brush and thick paint. This will go with my collection of wolf pieces I have been working on this summer.  Each of them in a different style. Available.   Email Me. 3 ft by 3 ft  Oil on Canvas        © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 LOVE When I was a teen I consulted my Grandmother on happiness.  It was not that I was an unhappy teen, but somehow I felt something missing in my life.  She would hug me and say happiness is like a butterfly. You can go chasing it but you will never catch it.  Happiness lands on you when you least expect it. For Lady L that was falling asleep while reading her book, "I LOVE YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH". So then I think of life in general and what most of us want is acceptance. Acceptance for who we are right now in life. We all want love; we all go searching for love with that acceptance.  My grandmother would tell me it was like a butterfly as well, elusive to my s

Abstract Horse Painting ESCAPE by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

The Escape 18 x 27 inches of thick Holbein Duo Oils. The gorgeous chunky contemporary horse painting brings together all  the elements in nature blurred about the horses as they run. I finished this painting too late to make the trip to Santa Fe so it is available from me right now.  Email me if you are interested.       © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 ESCAPE Do you ever think about 'escaping' from a situation when you begin to feel uncomfortable or you are ready to NOT be there?  That could include relationships as well as situations.  Have you ever tried to escape yourself? We all have our inadequacies.  We feel we are not good enough, or pretty or handsome enough, or our feet are too big or we are not good enough to snag that better job with more pay.  We limit ourselves all the time.   We measure social success and financial success and when we fall in the bottom it just reaffirms what we have felt.. that we are simply not good enough.

Pam is by far the best framer in the US... really truly true. Levi grumbled when Terry put a hole in the back brown paper on one piece but he redid it for us and we actually made it back home by 1:30 in the afternoon.  Good thing we did as both dogs decided the extra veggies Terry fed them last night did not agree with their constitution and they both had the runs.  We were airing the house out for hours...but all is good now. Fast Trip... hurry hurry hurry . Isn't that the way our lives seem today?  I was so relaxed going in yesterday that the trip in flew by us both.  We were at Uline at the appointed time.. and stopped at Whole Foods for a yummie breakfast burrito,

Epsilon Abstract Horse Painting in Progress by Texas Contemporary Equine Artist Laurie Pace

"Epsilon" Abstract Horse Painting in Progress 30 x 40 inches Mixed Media Painting Still watching direction on this one...stay tuned for final shots in the next few days.   © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011      Waiting As I work on a painting in my studio I am always waiting and watching the direction of growth as the painting develops under my brush and/or palette knife.  I wrote yesterday about "in the mind's eye".  Today I spent another three or four hours on this piece and it is evolving with the layering of all the paints and the changing of contrasting colors building on each other. There are quite a few hours yet to be to travel with this one and I will wait patiently as I paint. I am in waiting for that inner feeling that my job is complete and the painting has reached the point of 'finish'. We all seem to do a lot of 'waiting' in life. Often we are waiting on others instead of concentrating on waiting on God. Wai

Abstract Horse Painting Expressionism in Progress by Texas Equine Artist Laurie Pace

Progress on an Abstract Expressionistic Horse Painting 30 x 40 x 2 Inches  Mixed Media on Canvas I am not sure of direction in the painting or the direction of the finished piece.  I will be delivering pieces to Mirada this month for the July show,  and also pieces to the Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole . This is about 1/3 of the way done. The piles and layers of paint take days to build up. This is one day of work.  © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie         I SAW IT IN MY MIND'S EYE.... In my pea brain I often have this inner vision in my head of a painting. Of course that NEVER comes out on canvas the same way.  I cannot figure that out.  It probably would if I were leaning back to realism, but once I begin working with colors, scraping and layering, all previsions are off.  The paint has it's own idea of what it will do. I have told you before I commit each piece to God for His spirit to work thr

Sunbathing Buffalo Abstract Painting by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Sunbathing Buffalo 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas    © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me to Purchase or for commission work: Laurie     The Sun Will Come Out I saw a sign at the Baptist Church when I drove Terry in to town yesterday for more medicine.  "The Lord Reigns and the Son Shines."   I took a liking to that; when I came home I had these buffalo sketched out on the canvas. Orginally there were more in the distance but once I had that phrase in mind the buffalo painting become three buffalo for symbolic representation of Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  The Son Shines... even in the painting! Yeah, that was corny but it was true.  This painting style and approach is like my Hidden in the Woods Painting for Denver.  I am not sure if this is Denver bound or Jackson bound. We had rain finally but not enough. I am grateful we maintained power through the storms.  Vicki phoned to report they were having heavy rain at their ranch northwest of town. H

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010  Page 93  Western Art Collector June 2010 available on newsstands in about one week. The Painting:  There are two in this series, and somehow the titles keep getting confused...but this is The Call of the Wild Mustang and it is here waiting for a new home. The Thought:  Okay, so yesterday morning and yesterday day did not go as planned. D idn't check much off the TO DO LIST.  Did not finish anything I started... and I blame it on the dog. I usually would blame it on TINK as she is so cute she is distracting, but she wasn't here.  I began early yesterday to unpack some more boxes.  Terry was outside loading the truck with a load for the county dump... and all of a sudden I hear him screech "PADDEEEEEEE".  That would be HIS dog,  not HIS as in God, bu

Contact Steve at Mirada Fine Art, Colorado to purchase this painting. © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: This was the piece I worked on during the documentary. As I finished it I knew it needed to be gallery bound, but did not realize I would be hearing from a wonderful gallery just outside of Denver.  Between the catch up days, I will do a few more pieces to send them and hope to visit there in the next few months. The Thought:  Today you should be open to unexpected blessings.   This was so tr
