The temps the last few weeks were in the 100-105 area with heat index about 10 degrees higher. We had a cool front come through which gave us a few cooler days but we are back over 100 again now.  AUGUST is here.  The painting above was painted last summer when we saw 100 plus for months in a row,  I kept things simple with a simple palette. I told Terry (my hubby) that I wanted to savor each and every day of this time. With the stress of this year, we are keeping our focus on the beauty of each day as we approach Christmas.  Finding "Quiet" is often hard in today's world.   For me, quiet can be found: walking through a park filled with tall trees turning the colors of fall. on the ocean slicing through the waves in a sail boat.  sitting in front of a warm fire watching the snow outside. tucked in a fav chair reading your newest favorite book. hold

We had the granddaughters here today and watched the Christmas Chronicles 2.  We enjoyed the time together with them. Makes us almost feel normal again.  Are you getting out or seeing your family at all?  Never thought life after sixty would EVER be like this!  The eldest is almost 12.  I was sharing with her how in love I was with Kurt Russell when he was 12 and starring in a western entitled " The Travels of Jamie McPheeters ".  Then explained how he and Goldie Hawn had been a couple forever but never married.  We looked at Goldie's photos over the years as well. " As an adult with a passion for horses, I always dreamed of a stallion running across the field in the starlight.  As far as " I wish I may, I wish I might have my dream come true tonight... " I would love to be bareback on that beautiful horse racing against the wind under Texas stars!   I would love to know what you dream about. When I paint something from music or something my dreams has inspired, I always bring to the canvas. Color is always primary. I may use something similar on the dogs I am starting. The collector lives in CA and has several of my paintings and she reached out hoping for something contemporary with her babies.  I am still debating on the approach but know in my heart, when I start I will let go and let the paint flow.  I watched a shared video on FB this last week. I hesitate as we get close to the election in Nov to even be on Social Media. I have been busy working in the studio with my oldest granddaughter coming to paint again.  This thrills me! Will share photos later. Sharing my heart thoughts right now leads me to say keep the Lord in your heart and do not allow so much of this world to creep into it. If the world creeps in... the Lord gets pushed out.  Think about Jesus in the temple when he clear all the merchants out... they had pushed God's presence aside.
