There are so many intense oranges and subtle oranges, but they really make a painting pop with life. Horse 90 is one of the bright ones in the herd. I keep throwing these closeups at you so you can see the beauty of the paint. It truly is the Spirit of the Paint for me.  It is the salt and pepper of color that finishes a painting.  We went to the Christmas Symphony yesterday. It was a large part of the family. Steve asked me to ship this one to him at Mirada and I did. Made it happen for him. I had to send it rolled because it was so large. I am trying to remember but thinking it as 6 ft tall and maybe 5 ft wide, or four and a half feet wide. It was late at night when I ventured back into the studio to paint. You can tell by this image that I was working by light only.  I began to pull some of my neutral grays throughout and began to 'feel' a pattern come to front as I went next to paynes gray.  Then I came in and knifed in the whites allo
