A Season of Prayer.  by Texas Artist Laurie Pace Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   “Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts. ” ― Mother Teresa We are coming upon the start of Advent of the Christmas Season. on the 29th of November is the first Sunday of Advent.  In preparation of a healthier mindset, I have decided to steer pretty clear of engaging in anything but this season of Hope and Prayer.   Yesterday I woke up early.  Sunday mornings I would rather sleep in a bit past 5 am! I decided to grab my ipad and listen to Pastor Morris' message from Saturday Church at Gateway, Southlake, Texas.  I do believe his sermon was meant to stir us into preparing our heart for what was ahead, both for advent as well as the situations growing violent throu

If you have not read it, it was about a young peasant girl that was adopted and in her life she was very vain. She had an old pair of red shoes as a foster child that she loved so much, she had her new foster mother buy her a new pair of red shoes. They were elegant and fit for a princess. Sadly the young girl was so attached to them she would not take them off.  Along the way to church one day a mysterious older man, a soldier with a red beard

Normally it would be birthday month but our choices of doing things is slim with the Covid running rampant again. A large box arrived this morning and I will be unpacking it shortly! Meanwhile the painting above is entitled 'Seasons'.  This is a painting that has gone through four transitions to get to this point.  Even when I went to bed last night, I was debating destroying the canvas entirely.  The journey was that challenging.  This morning... everything changed. This morning I saw two things I needed to do and I did them and suddenly...  read more here. “  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. Block Party | Figurative Painting by Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Block Party  by Laurie Pace  Not quite finished...but working on it! Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   It was back years ago in 2009 that our street in Lake Highlands (Dallas) 'Chiswell' had a block party. The street was only one long block and we closed off both ends and the kids and adults gathered mid way and had a party... a total blast. I ran around with my camera snapping photos.  I am in a workshop right now and was using one of them for this... it is not complete but wanted to share where I am with it.  I painted the board with the bright colors underneath and then painstakingly hand painted the little girls on it ... It was a fabulous journey so far. Hope your week has been good. I have been posting on Instagram more lately. You can find me at @lauriepaceartist.   “ keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to et

Morning Has Broken | Sailboat Paintings | Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Morning Has Broken ...   by Laurie Pace  Contemporary Sailboat Painting - Sold.  Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   I truly remember every stroke of painting this and the daring thought to cut through the painting with the slicer tool.  I use it rarely but in this painting it totally made the painting.  I curved it where the sun was placed in the sky creating even more interest. I love painting sailboats. That was our one love we did together as a couple. When we moved back to civilization to be closer to the children, we had to sell both boats. There was no place to keep them.   What is your favorite thing to do in life?  👀😀💜  Stop by and read more at my website about one of the most dangerous times we spent on the red Cat in Lake Cypress Spring...  “ So may all your enemies perish, LORD! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land ha

The dogs were sketched precisely on the canvas... and the thick paint began to pile high.  These girls are heading to the west coast near San Francisco.  I was thrilled to paint for my collector in the Bay area.  I was even MORE excited she wanted the dogs painted like I paint my wolves.   Once the knife started, there is no telling the direction. One of those LET GO AND LET GOD days.  Up close you see the piles of paint and color peeking through here and there. Far away it give definition and dimension to the painting.   I would love to work with you on a commi

White Horse Morning 2012 | #21 of 100 | One Hundred Horses for One Hundred Days for $100 | Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 White Horse Morning   by Laurie Pace - Sold.  9 x 12 inches of thick oils paint. Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   It was in 2012 I painted 100  horse paintings in 100 days... and I never missed a day.  I even sold a painting each day as I posted them.  I really need to think about doing that again! During this Covid season, with galleries closed or running quietly without many visitors, the small pieces might move better than the large ones.  The brilliant colors and the contrasting angles of the paint surrounding the horse all pull in different directions.  The Orange burst warmed up against the blues and greens!  Make me smile!  Looking for my palette knife as soon as I post this one!  “Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you." Zachariah 2:11 “Many natio
