Horse 43 After the Storm by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Contemporary Horse Paintings

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 43 After the Storm 28 x 56 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Back in the studio after the Memorial Day Weekend. Terry has been helping me move things around so I can work better and enjoy the space. We hauled a lot of art things I was not using out and several cabinets. The result this morning was me going in and working on several small pieces for this week. I had a request for a small painting in the same strong colors of Rocky Mountain Sunrise from last week. This is it. My tiny reflective version of the piece. I hope you enjoy this small horse painting as much as I did painting it, with a smile on my face. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Horse Painting 42 Herd of Painted Ponies by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse Painting 42 Herd of Painted Ponies   9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  YUM... that is what I felt looking at this baby!  I love working with Carmel brown, now called Brown Pink. Never have found the 'pink' in it, but I love the color. So many small horses appeared in the background of this painting that it created a full herd.  Today is our wedding anniversary. Terry and I have been married forever... or it feels that way. When you have been with someone so long that your heart beats together and you know each other's mind as well as sensing the mood or thoughts... you know each other well. That would be 49 years of knowing each other.  A long time!  As I mentioned yesterday, we met in 1965. Seventh Grade, Lake Highlands Jr High School.  Our bowling date ... we were not doing much bowling in 1966. This was a 'party

White Wolf Joins the Pack Wolf Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 White Wolf Joins the Pack  32 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The seasoning is complete and so is the painting. It will hang and dry over the next few weeks and ship to Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole for the summer season of tourists.  I am hoping someone will like this wolf pack and take it home with them! Summer stretches out before us... the backyard is a refuge of delight. Chimes ring in the strong southern summer wind, the garden is blooming and growing, the grass is green and the trees shade the backyard.  The multitude of flowers Terry has bought me splash color throughout the patio and yard. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Horse Painting 41 Sun Breaking through the Rain by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse Painting 41 Sun Breaking through the Rain 8 x 10 inches Oil on Canvas Panel. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Colors were fun in this painted pony.  I actually got stuck working on it with the ice green I was using. There are not many colors that work well with it but the final result was stunning in person. Not sure this photograph does it justice.  Our anniversary is this weekend coming up... still trying to decide what to do since he is all casted up and unable to do much with his right hand.  Morgan and Kelly have their anniversary this weekend as well.  I thought about dinner at the Classic Cafe in Roanoke.  We did that last year and had a wonderful time.  Cannot really travel well like Terry is right now.  More about our anniversary on Sunday... that is the special day.  My brain is in overdrive thinking of things to do to make it special. This man has been an ins

Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Most of this piece is established and sitting for me to study it.  This is the 'soup' in the pot simmering, still lacking some salt, pepper and basil. I am going to take a break for a few days and study it and then by the end of the week post the final painting.  My watering began early this morning just after seven. I was a bit disappointed that the temps were not as cool as they have been.  Terry has nine more days until the cast/bandage is removed and he is released to 'water' again... I cannot wait.  When he has his eye surgery in June, he can actually water after two days of laying flat... he just cannot lift things over 20 pounds.  The problem with the wrist is both the weight and use as well as dirt and water.  We

Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Yep... .another wolf painting on the way. It will be shipped to Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole. I will not post progress pictures but maybe two more... to the final.  Trying to get the galleries caught up on work and prepare for the museum exhibit entries. Have to be juried in with my work. This is my new rose... and it smells even better than it looks. Terry bought this bush for me on Sunday from Whole Foods. Our anniversary is next week. Terry is doing well from his wrist surgery. Hard to not use your right hand when that is your hand of choice. I wrote a friend that my days grew longer. I am up and outside by seven each morning watering and tending the garden and the trees.  Next in to sweep or clean part of the house and then to prepare breakfast and clean up after that. THEN

Horse 40, Adventure by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 40 Adventure 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Every moment at the easel is an adventure. Some turn out better than others, but the best ones are the unexpected journeys where I do not try to control what is evolving on the surface. The painting that was up yesterday came out of a scraped canvas... this small energetic piece came from some of the same colors that were left on my palette.  Hence the name 'adventure'. May this day be an adventure for you.  Let Go and Let God. Was watching an episode of "Calling the Midwife" on PBS several weeks ago and in one of the scenes a man said, "My Mother taught me when something knocks at the front door, you open it up and it blows in... and then you open the back door and let it blow right on out."  That sent shivers down my legs and arms.  From that day forward, every time

Rocky Mountain Sunrise Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Rocky Mountain Sunrise  32 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Short short fast posting.   Terry had wrist surgery on Friday and I am doing the wife/nurse thing for the next two weeks. I will try and post on and off as I can and I hope to keep painting.  This painting was finished on Thursday. Personally I love it.  The strength and majesty of the stance of the horses and the colors just pull me straight into it.  I am debating on submitting this for a museum show in El Paso later this summer. Let me know your thoughts. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Weathering the Storm Colorful Contemporary Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Weathering the Storm  30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This piece is coming home from a gallery to be sold on my website.  Stop by and see some of the incredible close ups of this painting. Color contrast creates the strength in this contemporary Horse painting.  This week is a busy week for us.  Terry has wrist surgery this week and he will be laid off of doing any work with his right hand and arm for the next two weeks.  Yes, that leaves me with garden responsibility, trash responsibilities, cleaning the house, wash, vacuuming, ...really with all of it. Strength is something that I need over the next two weeks! Prayers are welcome for his healing.  Also tomorrow a tree is coming for our front yard. Was suppose to come last week, but the rains kept it from happening. They called this afternoon and said it was bundled and ready to plant in the
