Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 Moonlight Madness  24 x 30 Oil SOLD ““Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”  Isaiah 1:18 Our daily walks are stretching to be two miles each day. The weather is about as perfect as one could order up with the nights in the high forties or low fifties and the days pushing slightly close to 70.  It eases the memory of the hot summers with temperatures pushing over 110 degrees. Just about gone are the mosquitoes and the threat of West Nile Virus. With every step my mind clears of stress and chaos as I connect closer to Him.  Read more here. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 Cowboy in Progress 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas  Donation Painting SOLD  I have continued working the background  to the back left but today will be working the back right.   I continue to work on and finish up different parts of the composition filling in bits and pieces of strokes to complete the story.  Words of my Heart, "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9) On this Veterans Day I have to share a remembrance of my dad who served in the Army during the Korean war.  Terry and I attended a Veteran's Day Banquet on Friday night this past week.  It is an annual banquet by the Republican Woman of Northeast Texas where they honor a living veteran in the area for their service.   The company was fabulous being surrounded by men and women that have served in our great mili

I am blocking in colors that will be mixed to be darker but I am hoping to be heading the correct direction. Words of my Heart The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.  Galatians 3:16 My Christmas Cactus are blooming already. Usually they begin putting out early buds in December. I believe the cold nights we have had have encouraged them to bloom early.  They are a promise to me reminding me daily of the special joy of celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus.  Every year I know they will bloom at this same time approaching the holiday season.  Read more here. The Cowboy, Cowboy Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 On the Easel, Praying Cowboy Progress Oil on Canvas. Donated SOLD painting  I will try and post my progress on this painting. Things are a bit chaotic here in the studio with cleaning out and preparing for winter. I began working on this last night on the painting process. This above is the blocking in portion as I get started. Words of my Heart.... “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.””  Joshua 24:15 This verse seemed appropriate following the elections. I truly try not to focus on the political turmoil our nation is in, and I did not hide the fact I was not pleased with either choice on the ballot this week.  Terry and I stay focused o

I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity     to come on the nation invading us.  Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,  yet I will rejoice in the Lord,  I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:16-18 We have a beautiful passion vine that took off in all directions across our chain link fence.  The fence is NOT my favorite part of our home and for the past three years I have lobbied to take it down or replace it with the black iron fence. Meanwhile this purple blooming pa

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. Matthew 12:36 I found this empty pot sitting on the deck caught between shadows and light. It reminds me of how we are living right now... we are all between shadows and light often pulled one way or the other by persuasion from others, or our own ego stepping out to control us.   READ more here.... San Jacinto River Crossing almost done! Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 Horse Painting San Jacinto River Crossing almost done! 8 x 5 ft Oil on Canvas SOLD Commission The days pass and run together when I am working on a horse painting this large. I feel the end is soon on this one as it comes together with color and intensity. No horsing around here! Words of my Heart When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2 We walked down to the big lake to the sound of geese and ducks.  I love seeing them paddle around in the glistening waters... reminds me of God's promise.  He is with me through the waters that seem to overwhelm me as they sweep over me. My trust is in Him to protect us through all times. Read more here. My Blog     My Website       Giclees on Canvas, Pri

San Jacinto Horse Painting Journey by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 The San Jacinto Horse Painting Journey with Texas Artist Laurie Pace 8 x 5 Ft Oil on Canvas SOLD Commission More piles and pulls of paint are sweeping over the horses in what is about the fourth of fifth layer of colors. I do not even want to think about the cost of the paint in these horse paintings... I only care about the spirit of the paint.  Words of my heart. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.  John 12:24 The zinnias are winding down outside... and I captured this shot of one that has turned to seed.  If you grow them, you can take the head of the zinnia and save the petal like seeds to plant more next year.   My Blog     My Website       Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards        The Five Graces      The Artists of Texas        Daily Painters        CFAI

I literally pull paint from one side to the other inner weaving the colors to keep them constant across the painting.  Strength is important as I build.  Continue the journey with me tomorrow. Words of my Heart So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.  1 Corinthians 3:7 Brilliant contrast of colors with this deep red and green annual under my crepe myrtle tree. Reminds me of the upcoming holidays and Christmas but this plant only has a few more weeks to bring joy to our vision before it withers from the cold.   Read more by clicking here. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 San Jacinto River Crossing  A journey in a horse painting  with Texas Artist Laurie Pace 8 x 5 ft Oil on Canvas SOLD Commission  I really got excited bringing to life horse four and five in this composition. A horse painting always explodes with energy in my studio and what seems to be uncontrolled colors.  Stay with me as we go. Words of my heart... The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.  Galatians 3:16 As fall has arrived and our nights are cooling off to the mid forties and low fifties, much of our plant life and trees are beginning their journey to dropping leaves and seeds.  This is a branch off my crepe myrtle tree against the gorgeous blue sky. San Jacinto River Crossing Horse Painting Progress by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 San Jacinto River Progress Horse Painting 8 x 5 ft Oil on Canvas SOLD commission This is the part of the painting that begins to make me get excited... almost like giving birth as these horses come alive in this composition. I am a day ahead in painting from these pictures so I know what they turned out like... and you will know soon. Words of my Heart One day Ruth’s mother-in-law Naomi said to her, “My daughter, I must find a  home  for you, where you will be well provided for. Ruth 3:1 Much in our conversation is about our home.  We have saved up some money to take down the fenced area that Paddy roams in and want to re-fence an area for him and open up the backyard. Terry still wants to work on the retaining wall and reclaim some of the lost land that has filtered slowly into Golden Pond. Do we spend the money or wait....wait upon the Lord? San Jacinto River Journey Continues, Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 San Jacinto River Journey continues 8 x 5 feet Oil on Canvas SOLD Commission  The paint continues to flow through my knife. I have switched to my larger palette knife. It is not the largest, but this is one I like working with. The excitement continues to build with the contrast and blending of colors and paint and the personalities of the horses in this painting begin to surface and take shape.  This type of horse painting is an incredible journey.   Words of my heart... “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”   1 Peter 5:8-9 It has become a tough journey in our home as we begin month four of plant based diet.
