'Four Black Horses' Music Opera Series Michael Dutka Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Four Black Horses 2' 36 x 48 inches (3ft by 4ft)   Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to commission a painting.  Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:   A celebration of life, a celebration of music and a painting led by the Spirit of New York Opera Writer Michael Dutka.   Listening to the cd of the opera while I painted and listening to the story of these dignified majestic black horses brought tears to my eyes and passion to my palette knife. I do not know if my painting is strong enough to capture the love these four black horses had for their princess. The Thought: First short note: The Tink was here yesterday.  Yes, I have pictures, but they are still on my camera so you will have to wait.   We took her to our favorite Mexican Restaurant and she loves Mexican food.  Four Generation Uncle Julio's on Lemon Ave in Dallas. My main thought goes with the opera story.  I think I shared it before, but you have to read through it a

'Stallion Power' Contemporary Equine Art Horse Large Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Stallion Power' 30 x 30  Acrylic Overlays on Canvas SOLD ALREADY! THANK YOU> Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting : It reminds me of lemonade on a hot day...but is is 8 degrees outside. Hummm, what is wrong with this picture. Wishful thinking? Wonderful overlays and drips and a sturdy strong horse. The Thought :  I was reading Psalm 27 this morning. This is another Psalm written by David.   It reminds me of something I need tacked inside my brain...when you have those unexpected panic attacks or someone is rage driving down the road and they cross your lane, or even when someone falls ill in your family.  That is when you need Psalm 27. " The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid.  When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fa

'Born of the Sun' 20 x 30  Acrylic Overlays on Canvas SOLD first day out! Thank you. Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting :  Such expression when I work in values on the color wheel that adjoin each other. There is power in these warm colors...can you feel it working in the painting? The Thought:   I have a thought to give you to ponder... think right now of prosperity.  What really is prosperity?  There are times when you find yourself in a comfy couch or chair or even curled up in bed and you think for a second, "It can't get any better." And of course there are times you are very uncomfortable and you squirm around trying to be still or to relax and you just can't.   You are seeking the comfortable feeling and you can't get there. Sometimes I wonder if you can compare prosperity to this.  It is strictly point of view and not necessarily amount of money.  What

Kyra and her Irish Horse by Texas Aritst Laurie Justus Pace Child and horse Oil painting

'Kyra and the Horse, Ireland ' 6 x 6 inches  Oil on Board Contact me to purchase by check or paypal or to commission a painting.  Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:  This picture was sent to me by a collector in CT.  I love painting her kids; they are in the banner at the top of this blog.  This is not a good representational painting of Kyra but mainly capturing her with the horse... catching the feeling and the mood.  I want to do a large painting, maybe 8 x 10 or so of just her face with the horse.   I will be sprinkling these in as I do them.  The next may be a soccer girl... from a collector up north.  Wait and watch.... meanwhile remember to send me a picture if you have a good one for me to paint. The Thought :  Yesterday I spent time in Psalm 25 .   Do you know your Psalms pretty well?  The Lord is my Shepherd is the 23rd Psalm...then the 24th Psalm is a strong song followed by the 25th which I was led to read as I am

'Born of Night' 24 x 36  Acrylic Overlays on Canvas SOLD Thank you! Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: This is one of my enjoyable acrylic wash layers that I love doing . I have not decided if I am done with it or not... so you might see it again.  The soft blues are my favorites to work with. The Thought: PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE... my heart is praising .   I got my first box of my Heart Books from LULU today and they turned out beautifully.  I truly give all the credit to God for the majority of my work. There are those times I jump in without the spirit, and altho I execute a painting, it lacks the spirit.  Then I have to give incredible thanks to Jan Wenstrand and her magic in correcting all my typos and grammar issues.  Some folks are so good at that, and some of us are not! So this day I am celebrating the gift with praises of joy and adoration and thanks . It will be a little lighte

'Two in the Wind' 20 x 30 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD... I will miss this one, it is a favorite! Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: A change in color palette. This was drawn off on canvas before the new year started but I have not been in the studio to work until today. I just finished it up last night and decided to post it right away.  I love the play of colors of the rust and blues. The Thought:   Sometimes I have trouble with staying focused with the phone ringing all the time.  Yesterday was ONE of those days. Terry was back at work, Crystal was at school and EVERYONE decided to call.  Unfortunately it slowed me down quite a bit as I had so much to do yesterday and I only finished the one painting.  I did not even get sketching on the next ones.  My sketch book is full of future paintings... and maybe later today I can paint again. I have ideas of going off into a weird direc

'REVOLUTION' 24 x 30  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: Another Oldie Goldie. Tomorrow I return to my easel after about a two week break. God is good and I know I am ready to come back and create some new things....it is an open book and a new step every day... take out those paints and let the flow, run, drip, glob and make art happen. The Thought :  Expiration Date.... we were at the store and I was checking expiration dates on things to make sure Murphy's Law did not encourage me taking something home that we could not eat. I hate returning things... so much trouble to keep up with receipts and then remembering to take it with you on the next trip there. Expiration Dates... do we have those on our gifts from God?    I tell Crystal daily she has to use her gifts.  We are just beginning to identify them, but the child of my heart has a huge heart to want to lo

There is another artist doing 100 portraits in 100 days.  Leave me out on that one.  I can't do horses with Debbie doing them in February, I will have to wait and save them... but this would be a good time to consider 28 days of IMPRESSIONS.  I have several folks that have sent me very very darling, cute pictures of their children doing things.  I am going to do Impressions of the Younger Generation.  Send me your ideas fo

'Your Light' Collage Butterfly Mixed Medium Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Your Light' 9 x 6  Mixed Mediums on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: Somewhere along the way last year I lost "heart" and fell behind trying to experiment with new things in my art.  Next to come is a very large collage of the heart. This is building up to where I want to go with other pieces and playing with delicate papers and varnish overlays.  I did this on New Years Day at Stacey's house. The Thought: I heard from a reader of my blog that she was worried about my slight change in writing on my blog.  It touched my heart that she took the time to write me and share what was in her heart to help me mend.  It is a cherished gift and I am thankful to receive her kind words and sharing of her experiences.   Everything we do, we should do it from the heart. Laurie " Your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of everyone of you for one another is incre

'Rose Bowl' contemporary FLORAL FLOWER Daily OIL PAINTING by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Rose Bowl' 24 x 36  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2005 The Painting:   This was from the archives. I actually did some collaging at Stacey's house on Jan 1st, but have not shot pictures of it. Will try and do that! The Thought:   This can't come from the archive as I write it from my heart with every key stroke.  Every heartbeat is from God's hand .. your heartbeat and mine. Every second is yours to take and use to the best it can be used. My wish for you this day is not to waste any part of it.  Live it as it was meant to be lived. As we took down the Christmas tree yesterday and I carefully put away my new manger scene... I thought lovingly of the angel that bought it for our family.   She is a dear sister/friend that lives far from us in Texas.  As I cradled each piece dusting it and wrapping it carefully... I thought of her and how blessed every Christmas wo

'Sunflower Trio' Contemporary Floral Art Sunflowers Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Sunflower Trio' 24 x 36  Oil on Canvas SOLD  Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting : Since we spent yesterday at the Tink's house and I heard my daughter sing "you are my Sunshine" 100 plus times...I had to post sunflowers for the second of January. Look below and see if you don't agree. Here is our Tink in her COZY COUPE: The Thought:   The new year brings new thoughts and new adventures ...but yet the old year still has things happening around you and in your life. While you eagerly anticipate the joy of the new this day, you probably have much of the old tugging away at you. Have you ever gotten yourself into something while really "heartfully" trying to help someone?   I am there and have hit the wall.  Examining the situation I know I can only trust God is going to see me through it because I don't have the desire or strength to go the journey.

'Soul Mates' Contemporary Equine Art Horse Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Soul Mates' 24 x 36  Mixed Medium on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:   Soul Mates... Yes this is for the two friends, lovers, couples, married folks... the two people that are in sync with each other.  The two that can finish a sentence for each other or know what the other is thinking from miles away.  Soul Mates.  One of my UK collectors saw this and said it reminder her of Easter.  The more I looked I saw what she saw... the Lord is part of your soul as well...woven through you and about you...His touch surrounds you. The Thought : HAPPY NEW YEAR!   2010 is here and the beginning of a new decade.  Are you ready to go?  Are you ready to start a new day in a new decade and a new life dropping all the old stress you carry around?  If you can figure it out, drop me another email...I am still working on it. NO I did not make a list of New Year's Resolutions. I have enough l
