Return of the Wolf Pack Abstract Wildlife Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Return of the Wolf Pack 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas Available through The Rare Gallery. Email them here to purchase.   ©Laurie Pace     Graphics One Design 1998-2011  Details  Details       A Friend Smiles I was working hard in the studio yesterday finishing up this piece and working on the bear I began at the workshop.  The doorbell rang and it was Ann Morgan, one of the workshop attendees and now a new friend from across the lake. We were instantly talking about the workshop and about Jane, the wonderful artist from New Zealand.  Jane is an artist that is so respectful of mother-earth and all God has created.  The land is apart of Jane.  Her work celebrates the beauty and bounty of the Earth. When a friend smiles they share the bounty of life and love. Life is fuller with our friends. God give us boundless moments to enjoy our lives and everything surrounding us.  We are often too busy to even realize what is there for us and who is there for us. The next time

Progression on Return of the Wolf Pack 36 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas This Wolf Oil Painting is for my Jackson Hole Gallery,  The RARE GALLERY. If you are interested in this painting you need to contact Hollee Armstrong .   ©Laurie Pace       Graphics One Design 1998-2011 The Midnight Hour It was near midnight when I stopped painting last night.  I was up about an hour ago but just now coming in to blog.  From workshop to Jackson Hole work this week and then to finish up the Denver work.  Add Morgan and Kelly's wedding to the mix and you have a busy May. This weekend here in Mt Vernon is Mayfair for the annual art show and a wine festival. We evidently have vineyards nearby that Terry and I have not explored. God's grace penetrates my mind in times like these. Seems like the plate is overfilled part with good things and part with busy work, but I find if I keep my eyes on Him and my heart open to Him, I will find my way.  I do not believe He wants our plates ever to

Beginnings of Wolf Pack The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole. 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas © Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011        Last Morning This morning Lori will arrive from Selah ranch to work with me for a few hours before flying back to Indiana.  She was my one student that flew in for this workshop with a broken leg.  She arrived mid day on Friday so I had promised some private time this morning.   Last night I began burning discs from my lap top to move images to the big mac. I cannot wait to share the workshop with you.  We have TWO blogs resulting from the workshop and by midweek I will share those addresses with you too!  Selah Ranch is definitely not the Ghost Ranch of Georgia O'Keefe, but it is now the top choice of Artists of Selah Ranch.  Commitments were made to do it again and to try and make it annual. This five star bed and breakfast is beyond your wildest expectancies.  As soon as the next date is booked... I will have it up for you to sign up..

Abstract Wildlife Painting WOLF HUNT by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace, Affirming Peace in my Life

Wolf Hunt 22 x 28 inches  Oil on Canvas Lost count on layering but it finally pulled together with fur so thick it is off the canvas dimensionally. This is a deeply passionate Wildlife Painting of a wolf. Available through Mirada Fine Art Contact Steve.        © Laurie Pace Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me: Laurie Affirming Peace Cannot tell you how many times yesterday I literally stopped in my tracks and started praying.  Praying during the day is not unusual, but the way it happened yesterday was in total pauses.  When I was outside in the gorgeous day we had I lifted my face and arms up to the warm sun in the cool of morning and gave thanks.  When I felt weak during the day, I stopped again, went back outside and had a heart to heart with God.  I leaned on Him all day yesterday. When needs arose I stopped. I didn't panic, I didn't fret, I didn't allow any negativity to drive the day into a mess. I just stopped and paused and took a purposeful praye

Sketches of WOLF HUNT Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, IT WILL RISE!

Sketch for Wolf Hunt Unsure of size but think it will be 22 x 28 inches and it will be oil. This is for my show at Mirada this summer.   ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie          It Will Rise.. . Yesterday I received a care package from my 'sister', prayer partner, and fellow artist, Debbie Grayson Lincoln .  We shared high school together and over fifty times together..but lost track in between. I love having her back in my life.  Things are always on the up with a united front. ( I just checked out her blog and she has a video of one of her chickens with 8 eggs under it.) When she found out Terry and I were ill, she ground up some fresh flour from red wheat grain for us and slipped it into a box with her best recipe for fresh wheat bread. I read over the recipe and it looks fool proof...that is IF the yeast will rise.  I do have two packages of fresh yeast here.  BUT in the recipe she mentions GLUTEN which I st

We also took books into the library to donate them.   I will be experimenting on some smaller paintings as we will be traveling again in the spring and summer and I want to take acrylics and this easel with me to use as we go.  Open your minds right now and think of things to allow into your life.  Take a risk for the positive even if it seems unreachable or unfamiliar.   It is time this year to take out some index cards, at least ten of them and on five of them write down one thing on each card that you NEED.  Then write on the other five cards one thi

I am ever so thankful to God for protecting us in all our travels this past month. I thought I had forgotten my own street address when yesterday I started writing down our old Dallas address.  Pretty goofy. The reunion was wonderful and the pictures ...altho not plentiful, are good.  We decided it may be our last one to attend and we will just have a gathering of our dearest friends.   We paid $$$ for tickets and neither Terry or I ate anything or drank anything but water.  AND we found out at the last moment that it was cocktail attire which I did not have with me... and we spent money on a dress... live and learn what you can do with out. This is Vicki Fletcher, me and Debbie Grayson Lincoln.  You might recognize Debbie from the Artists of Texas.... we went to high school together.  Below is

'The Wolf' Wolf Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'The Wolf' 18 x 24 inches Oil with Palette Knife  SOLD Contact me to make an offer to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  I began painting and the eyes of this wolf are thickly interesting. I was not sure if I like it but as a whole it is powerful with the thick pulls of buttery oils. Holbein Duo are the best for me. The Thought:   I was reading the send out from another columnist about the imperfections in each of us.  If you are like me, some folks literally drive you up the way with either their words or actions.  My first reaction is patience, but that does not always work.  I do try to contain my frustration. Years of teaching has enabled me to rely on the Suppress Tool.    Lets turn it around. How do other perceive you?  Are they holding their breath and counting to ten because of your actions or words?  We often forget to look at ourselves.   We all have bad days and good days.  We have to accept there is no perfectio
WOLF PACK 24 x 36 inch Oil Painting Wolves by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD at the Show in Jackson. We are back! I have loaded a slide show of the trip! I am so happy to be safely home after two 12 hour days of driving. We were unable to stop very long inbetween so I could not blog. My mother was admitted back into the hospital early Sunday morning and we left immediately to return to Dallas. Everything that happens in life has a reason. Even when you think you have wasted your time. Even with the bad stuff. We never know the outcome of situations and the whys, but everything has a purpose and time passes and what is to come finally surfaces and we begin to slowly understand the why with the outcome. God has a plan, and although different from ours, we must stay steady with our faith and belief in Him. There is no waste of time...This is your life and every moment has a purpose. Life life to its fullest! Here are some pictures from the trip! Grace, Laurie "Then one of them, when h
WOLVES ~ Impressions of Wildlife by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Earth Works Art Gallery $2400 SOLD this weekend! Well today I will take down the Christmas tree and pack away all the decorations. Terry is stuck making boxes and preparing the shipping stuff. THEN I want to paint a bit. Morgan has his teaching interview today and I need all positive thoughts and energy his way as he has a huge head cold that arrived yesterday! Nothing like being sick with flu symptoms and a cold and going on a life turning job interview. The Will of God never places us where the Grace of God cannot keep us. I know I phrased it a bit off, but you know what I mean. He pushes us so that we grow and become stronger with our faith and our journey in this life. Short entry today, and late as well, but much is calling my attention. Terry is still asleep in bed and it is after eight. We went to bed at nine last night, so he should be caught up by now. We will see how far w
WATCHING TWO, Wolves, Wolf - Wild Life Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas SOLD Sunday morning and SOOO much energy swimming in my tired body.... oops that is an oxymoron. Did I even spell that correctly this morning? This is a second painting in my wolf series. The first one is sold so I moved to another canvas and kept the same contrast of a black background. It's funny how each of them have their own personality as I paint them...guess that is normal. Phil and I went into Dallas yesterday to the Arboretum. I took some decent pics, the blooms were rare with the heat we have had...so I will stay up with it as the cooler days arrive. I took some people pictures that will serve for some pieces in the next few weeks. After we drug our depleted bodies back to the car (It was 97 degrees with 80 percent humidity) we ate dried fruit and drank tons of water. Stopped by my fav Italian restaurant and got take out. He leaves today for Ville
NIGHT POWER 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Not quite finished but I wanted to post it! I told you several mornings ago I had a vision of wolves just before I woke. I even addressed visions yesterday in my blog. The painting is ALMOST done. I know by posting this it will prompt a wolf painting from an artist that seems to follow and duplicate my subjects in a competitive manner...my husband has a bet on that at least! As I have always written, art should come from the spirit with in, not necessarily a "planned" event or competition. These animals have distinct personalities that almost frighten me when I am staring at it or working on it. I rarely RARELY paint wolves, but again a vision led this painting to be. In the vision it was three wolves, but in the painting it evolved to THREE EYES. That alone seem to be enough to quietly affect the viewer into slight hesitation to approach the composition. The fur seems full and textured that you might want to b
