Progress Land of the Longhorns, Longhorn Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progress Land of the Longhorns 35 x 53 inches Oil on Canvas  Well the palette began to change with some additions of grey blues into the mix. I really like the contrast of this against the rich quinacridone oranges, but the buyer wants less of it... so I am in transition on this one, working out the blues waiting again for a color update from the decorator.      ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011    Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      An Incredible Promise of things to come, are you ready? The holidays bring to mind a time of preparedness or getting ready. I am always amused by the stores that begin 'preparing' in October for Christmas.  Each year it seems to get earlier when you see all the teasing lights, wrapping and ribbons.  The colors trigger our minds to think of the holidays ahead and what we have to do to be ready. Either drag the tree down from the attic or plan on where you will purchase your live o

Prograss The Land of the Longhorns by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on Commission Painting Texas, The Land of the Longhorns  This is the beginnings of the painted pull of this special longhorn. The base of the canvas is painted in gold tones acrylics but the overlay of paint is Holbein Oils. 35 x 53 inches Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie       Let it Shine with Her Smile... Last night Terry and I went to visit close friends to help put up their ten foot Christmas tree. The Mrs. of the family had surgery recently and is still couch bound. The Mr. was not looking forward to the job as it had never in all their years of marriage fallen to him to decorate the tree. I was petrified I would put something in the wrong place as Mr. brought out a huge container about four feet in length and two feet wide and three feet tall.  He popped open the lid and behold inside was a bounty of ornaments gently laid and stored. If there

Laurie " Because of this, in fact, I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, because I know the one in whom my faith is set and I am convinced that he is able to protect what has been entrusted to me until that day." Timothy 1:12 When I woke up with a leg cramp at 3:30 this morning, in my prayer time I came across the thought of... Are you a participant or a victim? Okay, so those are weird thoughts for that time of wee hours, yet when I think of living life as a believer I am a participant in God's plan. I am never a victim. I work on finding the positive side of everything and constantly buff off my rose color glasses. A victim is an unfortunate person who suffers from some adverse circumstance. In our lives God definitely confronts each of us with adverse circumstances....are you a participant or a victi
Bevo Bound for the United Kingdom Contemporary Western Art Longhorn Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD and on its way this week to the UK 24 x 36 inches THICK OIL on Canvas Contact me for Commission work: Laurie "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 This bevo is going to go on a long trip from Texas to the UK. He is Texas Born and Bred. Not sure where the BORN and BRED came from, was it a movie? I know in the UK they had a show entitled Born and Bred about four years ago. I think this little fellow will like his new surroundings and will take a bit of Texas with him; he was after all born/created on Texas soil. You were born here on earth, on God's soil. This is God's turf isn't it? If you were blessed you grew up in a family that took care of the "Bred" part and brought you up as a His child in His word. Or maybe later in

Let's not be responsible for his death; after all, he is our brother." Genesis 37:27 STRESS Did your parents ever tell you the old phrase, "You made your bed, now lie in it?" Humm, really can hit home can't it. Even when you are trying to do good, if you are not leading your actions by prayer, things really do backfire on you and you end up being responsible. Uncomfortable situations that cause stress in us are usually brought on by our own unwise actions. Joseph's brothers faced this problem. They wanted to eliminate Joseph; he was quite irritating to them. Their action to "sell hi

Laurie Monday begins with daylight already through the studio windows. I am packing paintings this morning and Terry and I will meet Mom and my brother and sister-in-law for lunch. I think it is fish day. When I was asked to be a part of Earth Works Art Gallery in Penn Yan New York, I was totally blown away by the generosity of the owner, Billie Bauman. She built this gallery with a purpose to touch lives along the way. She was generous with her split with the artist and of her portion she donated 10-15% to the charity of the artist's choice. In the end the Gallery only gained about 25% to pay bills and cover salaries. The Gallery often has a tight budget, but the work it does multiplies out into the world through her continued generosity. Click here to see Earth Works Art Gallery Did

Did you ever notice how hard it is to stay Faith-filled when everything around you is screaming FEAR FEAR...run for your life? Between the tumbling, or rather FALLING stock market and the soaring gas prices... oh and do not leave out the soaring unemployement and the grocery store prices....life is a bit off right now. Many of us face thoughts of how to eat next week, or what if I loose my job... and next your health begins to fail and your blood pressure begins to rise. Throughout the bible God has always seen His people through t
LONGHORN SUMMER SOLD Monday...WE ARE PACKING TODAY and Morgan is moving in for the next week. He is the best house sitter with the dogs. Our dogs are not the friendliest dogs to strangers. We taught them well on stranger danger. In my head I am compiling one thousand things to be done today. The other side of my brain is in prayer saying, GIVE IT TO GOD. One thing at a time and we will get to where we are suppose to be. Yesterday I spent the day in the studio tying up last ends and cleaning up. Still have to mop the floors. I have wash going, already cleaned out the pantry for traveling food...we are heading to Whole Foods for last minute travel things and water and then we may take on the washing of the dogs. They are pretty dirty and I could not get them in at the groomer. I do not know if I will be able to blog every day when we are on the road. Most places do have internet but if it takes any thinking other than turning on the computer I struggle. In fact I need to add to the
