So me hills offer something pretty neat on the other side. What hill are you climbing right now? I really sat and thought about this blog before I began it. In the past week: I lost a favorite Aunt, my dad's sister.   I heard from some dear friends the dad has colon cancer. One of my older art friends has a wife on the verge of sliding further up the other side of her hill into God's arms, also with cancer.  Lady M, our newest granddaughter will be Baptised in a few weeks to celeb

I must go.  Sometimes the color is calling and I must paint.  Must have been a dual thought the morning I began this one. Always experimenting with the knife, thinking of palettes that would bring the best in subjects alive...and out of it came this red forest. It touches the earth with gentle colors of lavender and pinks before it erupts into full colors.  The Sunsets are the same but in reverse. As the sun sets we are presented with a kaleidoscope of colors blazing across the horizon. After the blaze, the sun sets kissing the earth good-bye in lavenders and blues. Each color is in harmony to His palette and choice of colors. The beauty resonates within me each morning when I take Paddy outside after

Sold ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Follow me on Facebook           Sign up for my monthly studio newsletter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I paint these small landscapes I have this urge to escape to where the water is as vivid as the sky at sunset.  This is one of my favorite tiny  landscape paintings .  They always tell you when you are stressed to try and envision some place in your head and mind where it is all good...all peace and beauty.  It is like a focus point to escape whatever is stressing you.   I find that  prayer  helps me be calm.  Sometimes it really takes its toll before I realize I do not need to feed into the chaos around me or the entanglements.  I have that choice.

THE PATH 8 x 16 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art Oil Paintings Daily Wednesday with rain east of us. We are dry so we will be watering later. I need and want to paint this morning. Too much time spent away from my studio! This painting is a colorful one full of life... I will be doing more of these collage of colors! Reminds me of the quilt we unearthed at Terry's dad's home...made by his grandmother probably in the sixties from the fabrics on the quilt. BRIGHT blues, yellows, oranges, reds etc. The quilt makes you smile when you look at it. So does this painting. No room for the blues or depression. Terry and I were reading in the Bible this morning out of Acts and then we read Jonah. Such an interesting story and conflict going on in Jonah for those sailors on the boat...what to do with the troublemaker Jonah who brought the anger of the Lord on them.
