Central Market and Costco.  Seems like with Covid and the shutdown of the past 400 plus days, I see my daughter less and yet more.   I see my daughter more as she has grown spiritually and wiser. She is less abrasive and not so quick to make decisions without thought or research. I am watching her change before my eyes over this time and I could not be filled with more love deeper than what I am now.  She is in her early forties and has two growing kiddos and a husband at home.  400 plus days ago,  i n the past life, she was one of those ...  click through to read more. 1 Peter 3:3-4 "Do not let your adorning be exter

Last summer I took a portion of a painting course from Nancy Medina, a long time friend. I was trying to break the barrier of Acrylic paints for future pieces.  There were six photos to paint with her but I only did this one.  I changed up my composition and colors and still kept the flowers because of the technique she was teaching.  This painting is stunning in person. This photo does not do it justice.  “ See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.” Isaiah 42:9 Laurie Pace  -  A Texas Artist   Shop for Large Paintings   |   Shop for Small Paintings   |   Shop for Prints and Gifts   | Commissioned Paintings        INSTAGRAM  : @Laurie

Before this bulb was planted, I knew what flower would bloom.... January Journal with Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Here I am at fifty-eight and in this past year I have only begun to understand what loving is … forced to my knees again and again like a gardener planting bulbs or weeding, so that I may once more bring a relationship to flower, keep it truly alive.” — MAY SARTON, JOURNAL OF A SOLITUDE It was a cold November when Terry and I planted bulbs for the late winter and early spring.  I am careful to lay out the packages with the bulbs as I direct the symphony of the planting by the time of emergence breaking the soil and blooming to perfection.  The tall ones in the back the short ones in the front and then of course the dates they will bloom syncing it all together.  READ MORE HERE . “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. Let rain on a house roof be a song, Let the writing on your face be a smell of apple orchards on late June." Carl Sandburg, Honey and Salt I know at my ripe old age of 64, I think more of wanting to just shake off all the worry and the work and remember my  'child heart'.  Should we think more of stopping to listen to the wind or rain, and to run outside and play in it? If we were eight years old, what would we be doing this summer?  Where are our child hearts? Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate. For

The rivers flow not past, but through us. Thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing. The trees wave and the flowers bloom in our bodies as well as our souls, and every bird song, wind song, and tremendous storm song of the rocks in the heart of the mountains is our song, our very own, and sings our love." John Muir At this home of one year, there is not a crepe myrtle. I am hoping this fall to plant one or two. They are my summer tree, and one of my Dad's favorites as well.  S
