Trying? Trusting? If at first you don't succeed, try try again.   Words from childhood but part of the Justus' upbringing.  Reflecting on that there is a mellowing of thought.  You cannot try to follow God harder. You can try to try again...but it is not in the trying, but it is the trusting. It does not take MORE work by you, it takes less work. Let go and Let God.  TRUST. Laurie   JOYFUL May this day be filled with joy. May you radiate God's love in your words and your touch as you share time with others.  Many of us here in the USA celebrate Fathers on this day.  As my younger brother says, it is an American Holiday to make people spend money, but cards and boost the economy.  Every day should be Father's Day and Mother's Day. God Bless Laurie “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 NIV He

"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," Timothy 2 1:9 When I was sitting in church last week there she was down the pew in her beautiful hat touched by the light from the stain glass window. I sat in awe at the simple beauty and asked her after church if I could snap some pictures... and as you can see she agreed. You will probably see it again as I had her do several poses. I have not painted like this in a while. Figurative painting is what I mainly did until five years ago when I left the world of fragile realism and stepped out into impressionism and abstract. Every artist grows with their changes and I think every path leads to another challenge an
Catching Minnows ~ Figurative Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing Email: Laurie The dog is watching the minnows, the boy is desperately trying to catch them...but they are elusive. Reminds me of life. We watch what is going on and see things we want to "Catch" or be a part of. Often it is not part of God's overall plan for our lives and I think we end up frustrating ourselves by trying to grasp onto things that will never be ours. Pray for the wisdom to know when to wade in the water. Timing is everything....that is a GOD THING! Yesterday morning early found me painting. I finished up one that I will post on Sunday most likely. It truly makes me catch my breath when I hit the studio and see it on the easel. I hope it finds a warm wonderful home. It is large, 24 x 36 and of course one of my equine paintings. Mom phoned early yesterday. We decided we would go visit Cousins' Pianos over in Garland as I
