Living in the Dallas Ft Worth area gives us welcome visits with my collectors. I think it is my favorite part of this job. It became part of my clients love story!   This sweet horse painting was a look back at when I met my husband. I was 11 and he was 13 and it was summer of 1964. I would turn 12 a few months later, slightly catching up.  He had turned 13 in July of that year.  Those early teen years were filled with giggles, hand written notes on notebook paper, swimming at friend’s houses… and as always church and family. We had small parties on many weekends once spring of 1966  hit.  I cannot even imagine what this is like in today’s world.  We have lifelong friends from this time and we were all well loved within everyone’s families.  I only had one friend with a wo

A Lifetime Relationship

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Together   Available     This painting is filled, not just with color, but with texture, and layers of thick paint. I chose to start with one horse when I began, but I knew immediately there would be a second horse. When horses form a relationship, it is usually for life. A horse is intuitive with relationships with the humans in their lives, and I can only imagine how deep their feelings run for a companion horse. Enjoy the layers of color and overlays woven through the entire painting, while the slight abstraction keeps the edge of realism present.  Shop other Available Artwork.  Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. People Humans have layers of experience but keep the core values they pick up as children growing into adulthood.  In our earliest years, we rely on safety, security, comfort, and care from our parents. With our changing world this is not true for every child today. If we are fortunate, we learned

" He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” Daniel 2:21    I am reminded of a favorite verse from Philippians that we should go to the Lord in prayer and supplication while giving thanks to make our needs and desires brought forth before our God.  We all have needs, hurts, pains, and discouragements right now in our lives. In today’s world, we are all affected physically or mentally by life, illness or need. For many of us, our expectations have not been met, and our feelings are raw. God has promised to answer our prayers…but in his time with his answer. It is best if we lay aside the anxiousness that seems to creep in our hearts and lives. He knows what y

Human nature seems to call us to jump into situations that might be avoided. In today’s world, our lifestyles have changed and we are confronted on every side with demand, action, and intensity. Rare is a moment of peace and quiet. Rare is a moment spent in prayer. Action seems to be the verb of the century.   With the constant distractions pulling us away from our thoughts and activities, it is no wonder we find ourselves lost through out the day. Screen time sucks life out of us. Facebook seems to be our social time scrolling and scrolling. Instagram and Tictoc ‘empower us’ to boldness to shock, share, and

This was simply a ‘oh wow’. This was from the middle of Dec through the 16th of January. Has not really been cold until last week.  Our world is changing and presently not in our favor economically. BE PATIENT  Have you ever had one of those days where you begin to doubt everything? My sweet husband works hard to keep us safe, but are we?  He decided we ought to check for gas leaks with the bill as high as it is.  I know sometimes he forgets to t

An Old Friend - delivering two new paintings!

Bless us in whatever experiences this day may bring to each of us. May we plant seeds of blessings to grow in the lives of others. May we have the energy to meet this day and its needs. May we not be distracted by worries. May we each enjoy every single simple quiet moment. Give us honesty and kindness living this day forward.  This beautiful horse Painting hangs in the home of one of my collectors. I was delivering two paintings to her home a week ago, and was thrilled to get to see the other pieces she had hung over the years. The one I’m sharing this morning is one of my favorites. The vivid contrasting colors combined with the horizontal movement of the horses across the water accented by the change of light at sunset, creates that feeling of the close of day, with the closing majest
