The Thought:  Don't shoot a hole in the boat.    I truly do not know where that came from.  Sometimes I refer to a hole in the boat and if you can't tell me where it is, the boat will go under with both of us on it.  That is usually the speech saved for the child that has done something wrong and won't admit it.  The unconditional love thing that we both go down in the boat together, or we work it out together. I try to convince them it would be so much better if they told me where the hole was in the boat so I can help them repair it... then we get to keep sailing along in life.  The obvious thing is we often shoot the hole in

This was one of two I was working on. The first one was rather small and I can post it this week, but this one is beginning to work for me. Is it done? I don't know yet. Life at the Lake:  It rained again!  We need to get our boat into storage for the next few weeks and are waiting for a day with wind and no rain.  It was a slow day yesterday for us...although I painted most of the day working on a new approach to the canvas.  When you do something new it takes months to grow with it to a comfortable level.  I think life is that way with everything.  Experience matters.  The more experience you have the stronger you are at that particular thing...be it painting, playing basketball or being a wife or

'Traveling Three' Colorful Small Horse Equine Art Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Traveling Three' 11 x 14  Oil on Canvas SOLD FROM THE BLOG! THANK YOU> Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:  This was done the day after the power came back on last week... I love the intimacy of colors and the contrast of warm and cool. The Thought:  Yesterday was Tink's birthday Party... and I ate something that literally did not agree with me.  We had a wonderful time watching her smash her cake and having so many little ones running around...well, some were taking tiny baby steps...it was wonderful .  BUT with my stomach ache there was not any desire to get to the computer to blog early this morning. Baby steps are so important in our lives. We were not made to run first, but to walk first and steady our legs before we take off running.  Think about that one today.  Walk before your run. Always pray to the Father before taking even those little baby steps. Laurie " Loving-kin

YUM. We have her again tomorrow... which is today if you are reading this ... and I am on my way to meet her mother to pick her up half way between their home and our home... so knowing we have to leave at six,  I decided to blog the night before. Do you ever listen to "Godl

When my husband saw it in person here in the studio he stopped with a "Woaw" and he does not do that often.  It relates back to the thought wild horse in nature, nature in wild horse. That is what you see and feel in this piece. The Thought : This is the fourth Sunday in Advent today.  We will be lighting our fourth candle in our advent wreath tonight and preparing

Close up Shot 'Dance of Red Ponies' Modern Equine Art Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Dance of the Red Ponies' 18 x 27  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:   This is a close up shot of this painting, just a piece of it.  This painting was varnished yesterday and I took a few close up shots of it.  I haven't painted much but will be starting some new things today...so right now you get a snap shot close up of the red ponies. The Thought : A shot at life...is the phrase that comes to mind.   Things that happen in our lives often determine our direction.  Unfortunately that is when we desperately come back to the Lord, seeking what ever it is that we need.  Why wait until things are so bad?   Of course as I reflect on those words I know the answer myself.  Life.  Life keeps us caught up running to catch up with the "next best thing".   The entire time the best thing is right inside of us waiting to be opened.  That would be our hearts.  We all wan

'Time on My Mind' Abstract Oil Daily Painting by Laurie Pace

'Time on My Mind' 24 x 30  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to commission work by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting : This is an oldie from the external harddrive. I do not have a painting that is new! I do have five, make that six drawn off on canvas ready to paint!  Stay tuned for new and approved. The Thought :  Typical conversations in our family might revolve around who is going to do what.  What is your most UNFAVORITE thing to do around the house?  Mine is taking out the trash.  I love washing dishes or cleaning bathrooms.  Each of us has our likes and dislikes.  Each of us is made differently.  The daughter still at home does not like doing dishes or homework.  She avoids both like the plague.  Our older daughter loves to bake, but 10 years ago she couldn't operate the stove. Looking out on a broader approach...not only are our daughters unique, but so are we.  While our God is the one and ONLY G
