Two From the Herd, Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Two From the Herd   © Laurie Pace 2010   © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Two From The Herd   Size: 18 x 27 Oil on Canvas. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Two From the Herd is a Contemporary Horse Painting I did as a second piece to a larger painting. The colors were from the original large painting that I did not like, so I scraped the canvas and reapplied paint to it and to this canvas. Both in life and on canvas, you have the 'given' and you use it to the best of your ability to make something out of yourself, or in this case out of the scraped paint put back on the canvas.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,     and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is a favorite contemporary horse painting completed in 2009 for Mirada Fine Art  in Denver. It was only there a short time before it went to a collector in Canada. It seems to be a popular painting because I have seen imitated copies of it this past year.  I remember growing up hearing that phrase, "What goes around comes around". It truly does. It reflects full circle.   This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5 #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart  #originalpaintedponypull Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter. Abstract paintings always do. There is a problem to solve.  I will let you know what I get there! Meanwhile from my garden a bit of 'abstract': For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. Horse 50 After the Afternoon Rain, Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Horse 50 After the Afternoon Rains by Laurie Pace © 2014 Horse 50 After the Afternoon Rains  Size: 9 x 12  Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The storm blew in so quickly it caught us off guard.  We have had such a drought situation that rain was a word only whispered and remembered from another time in another decade or another universe. North Texas is in extreme drought. As the storm broke mid afternoon the thunder roared and the rain blew out of the southeast almost diagonally like millions of sharp arrows hitting the two story windows in our family room.  The storm lasted about 90 minutes before it lessened and began to dissipate.  I knew I felt like painting and hurried into the studio just as the four o'clock afternoon sun broke through the clouds and the entire yard was filled with vivid colors from the garden, the roses and the green lawn. The inspiration ended up here. The canvas began with a layer of pink, white

Doing a larger paintings and connecting with the new owners and making the experience special is what makes it so very special. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The painting was in my mind a few weeks ago and looking through my painting archives I came across a single horse with a sun rising entitled Dawn's Early Light.  I thought it would be appropriate to do a contemporary horse painting for the 4th of July and name it By Dawn's Early Light. Today is Independence Day in the United States. This is a holiday we all look forward from the time we are little bitty until we are old and in our rocking chairs.  In the old days when I was young....we had sparklers, small firecrackers and simple things to light off with our families.  I loved the holiday at my grandmother's farm. It was always darker in the country and the fireworks seem brighter.    When I had children, two of the three were boys that pla

Terry has my  dad's flags ready to line the sidewalks. I am so proud to carry on his tradition in our neighborhood. We have always put out our big flag, but this will be our first year to use Dad's flags. Lady L will be over later to help her Bampa put out the flags for tomorrow. Choice is inevitable.  Weighing pros and cons to make choices is one avenue to making a decision and the second way is to make a decision with your heart.  I find myself bouncing between the choice of lists and using my heart.  I have to say most of the time my heart leads with the Spirit of God guiding me.  I believe my core values are instilled in me through all my life experiences and those affect my heart decisions as well. This horse painting is small but packed through with heart choices on both color and approach to the canvas. My addiction is color but in painting for me that is a positive. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the wa

Blue Horse on Orange, Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Summer heat is cranking up and we wake just before dawn about 5:30 to begin our watering routine.  The garden is watered every morning and sometimes around dusk depending on the heat of the day.  The Strawberries are delicious..the carrots are sweet, the green beans are more than we can eat... Terry planted them every other week, so we should have those for months ahead.  I even have one lettuce that made the heat, and with it tomatoes, bell peppers, squash and zucchini.    Changes for the fall will be higher beds to grow in but other than that we are having fun eating from the garden. I have spoken with several other artists out there that are battling change with me. Our studios have moved and changed and we are struggling to get back into the 'grove' of feeling comfortable painting in the new area.  F
