I offer to you to stop this weekend and tell someone how much they mean to you and your life. You never know if you will miss them again in this lifetime.  We lost a daughter-in-law this week unexpectedly. It is not unexpected for God but unexpected for us.  Asking for prayers for the two children, both teens.  Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO. Downhill Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Downhill, no doubt.  24  x 30  inches Oil on Canvas.  Terry told me the first rule in Italian car racing is never look back.  I thought about this as I found these three beauties in the paint, one definitely looking back.  I would be falling flat on my face running downhill and looking back.  Still not sure if I am done, but I think I am close. There is always this feeling of not wanting to touch it... but I will wait one more day. Downhill Horse Painting Progress by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Downhill ... 24  x 30  inches Oil on Canvas.  All from some left over yellow paint came this unique horse painting, distinctively a Pace painting for sure.  I will allow it to hang today to see if I want to add or make changes tonight or tomorrow. More Painting to come today. I will try and snap some photos when it is all together.  I fixed some good healthy Mexican food this weekend.  Catch up on facebook where I link the recipe and show my pictures. We did not have a sweet potato, which is highly unusual, but I did have sweet potato fries and they worked I think even better. https://www.facebook.com/lauriejustuspace?ref=tn_tnmn   Look for the highlighted story that shows food on the table.  I love Forks over Knives and their recipes. This actually was satisfying and like comfort food, even better. If you are staying up with Visual Language Magazine, this week I w

Downhill appears in Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Forms are beginning to set Horse Painting. 24  x 30  inches Oil on Canvas.  I did not do much today but finish forming in some blocked areas of color on this horse painting.  I know it will be called Downhill.  Been a busy weekend at the Pace household. TP has been busy beginning our painting process.  Many thanks to Lee Small of Lee Small Gallery in Ft Worth. She visited and walked through the house over three hours one morning as we bridged colors for the different rooms.  We have stayed with most of her color direction and if we did adjust one, we still stayed at a full dark value of the color.  Right now TP is painting the music room where my baby grand will be delivered on Wednesday... a mid grey ceiling and the walls will be dark dark dark.  I may have to do my own artwork for this room. Not sure what I have in my collections or even what I want in there.   Our decision with this house

Left Overs Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Left Over Soft Yellow... painting on the way.  24 x 30  inches Oil on Canvas.   I began working in the upper right corner with some turquoise, white and Verditer blue not a clue of where the color palette was going, only knowing I had some left over soft yellow to use from another painting.  Of course I knew a horse painting would result but no direction but following the flow of color and paint from top right to lower left and in between.   Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO. The Pear, fruit painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 The Pear  8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available. At my workshop a few weeks ago I was demonstrating layering the oils with knife, wet on wet. Next came the spicing of colors wet on wet. The importance is the freedom of the knife in the work. This painting is available. Email me. Final Stretch Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Abstract Horse Paintings

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Final Stretch 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas. In progress for South Hill Gallery, Lexington, KY.  Another in the Advantage Series Horse Paintings and another 10 tubes of paint.  Not quite done but this one is closer than the one I posted two days ago.  With the new studio I have room for multiple easels and paintings going at one time.  I love the new space and the horse paintings are loving it too.  We had a friend from high school, Lee Small, who owns Lee Small Gallery, and she is an interior designer, come by last week and help with our home colors and some ideas as we get started on adjusting this home to 'us'.  I am a bit surprised on some of the colors with the intensity and depth but I am game!   Lee's gallery has the work of some incredible artists. You might want to stop by her site.  http://www.leesmallfineart.com/ Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond St

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Weathering the Storm  30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas. In Progress  This is about 8 hours in and still not sure of direction but I am loving the palette colors chosen for this horse painting. I began with the orange paint, then the soft turquoise, then the blues... after that came quinacridone golds, purples, lavender and brown pink. The personality is beginning to develop.   Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO. Running in Color in Progress but almost done. Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Running in Color  32 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas. Mirada Fine Art  Not sure I am finished but this horse painting is a big one. Four feet in height and almost three feet wide.  I went through 22 tubes of paint so that tells you how thick the pulls are. This is not photographed in great light so I may repost later this week as I finish it up.  It is in the sit and watch mode.  Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Golden Pond Studio My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO.
