(this is not the exact German prayer I learned.) It was also powerful over 2000 years ago.  Human desire is to be loved and accepted by someone. Do you open your heart to others different from you? Acceptance implies an ability to listen and be open.   While you desire that of others, do you in turn offer it to others?   Listening to another persons point of view does not imply you must alter yours. Listening is simply listening and acknowledging to that person that you are attentively hearing what they say.  From this perspective it allows you to accept people for who they are with out judgement. As kids, those card houses never stood long either. I borrowed the cards from another blog. You may click them to visit it. God will continue to work around us and sometimes we end up going places the wrong direction but it is needed to get back to Him. In other words, there are some experiences we are to have to learn who we are. Only then will we discover the direction for our lives. In these wiser years I am beginning to be very hesitant on pushing ahead with any ideas before praying about it.  Best to turn to Him before doing anything. Make a joy list this morning. Focus on the happy things, the simple things and the things you do have.   During the day make a point to shift your focus when you encounter pain or frustration.  Put on your favorite music, or start singing your favorite song in your head. Make yourself go in a different direction.

He has that gift of bringing out the best in everyone and making each of us feel connected with the Father. We had a quiet, meditative, gentle service yesterday with guitar, piano and new music and songs for our old minds to stretch around.  The best part for me was the prayer and as Jack put it, the bookends to our prayers with music.   Hear our Prayer Lord.
