I know we have over a foot on the ground and we were not suppose to even have an inch.  Go figure.  Tonight is the formal Charity Ball in Mt Pleasant for Cypress Basin Hospice .  I am hoping it warms up enough to start melting the snow so we can drive there!  This will be revealed in a few hours I am sure. I spoke with Selah Ranch yesterday and I am going to delay my workshop until May. I will have a confirmed date and syllabus out in about 7-10 days.  I am working in God's time with this. I cannot wait any longer to paint out where I have the studio set up. It is way too cold. This morning when I got up to put the dog out I was surprised with 8-10 inches of snow and it is still falling.  He refused to go outside. Last time Terry kept the back porch clear of snow. We went to bed last night with the news we would only see a dusting.  There is 8 inches deep or deeper on my deck outside.  Just wait a few minutes in Texas... and the weather changes.  Pictures tomorrow. This is true for life. Often we wait on times to change or things to change and we are wasting our precious time that holds infinite possibilities.   We

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 My Blog My Website   Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards   As I was painting, I was listening to Ellis Paul singing about the star inside the apple and the little seeds that make up the star.  I began to think about how a seed can fall from one of the pine trees or one of the oaks through an acorn onto the ground.  The soil surrounds it, comforts it and takes it into its being and it becomes one with the ground and then one with the forest as the seed begins to sprout and grow into a sapling and then a full tree as it's branches stretch skyward to God's warm smile. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 My Blog My Website     Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards Yesterday was a made to order perfect day.  God answered prayers for a long awaited typical Texas winter day of 74 degrees and sun.  It felt marvelous.  Terry hauled my small easel outside and I painted on the deck overlooking the pond and Lake Cypress Springs .  I finished up this painting and it is available.  I am beginning to carve out ideas for the show I will do at Mirada Fine Art this summer. When you work outside like that, you become aware of all the noises and sounds as the wind blows through the trees and the woodpeckers are noisy in the distance. Yes we are pretty far out here, but I love it.   We had lunch with my Dad and brother Bill yesterday and enjoyed catfish and hush puppies. Asel Art, Whole Foods, visiting my parents, stopping by Northpark, and then finally heading east to home. We have really enjoyed our visit to the grand-baby's house. She rules the roost now as she is already in the terrible twos.  She is very bright and knows all her colors, her animals and their sounds, and actually reads about 100 words... at age 23 months.  She will melt down when we leave. She is a Bampa's little girl all the way through.  When you are little like the Tink, you are comforted by your parents, your grandparents, your favorite blanket or toy... by your bed and your pillow.  We pray with her at night and at meals. We drove to Louisville to take Morgan to Birthday lunch and then to Tink's house.  SHE IS WELL.. no runny noses or anything.  We are enjoying the love!  It is a short trip. Tomorrow to Asel Art and Whole Foods and then homeward bound.  This painting was adjusted with some mauve purple tones and it is now sold and will be picked up by the new owner here in Dallas area.  I have the painting with me at Stacey's house.   We just got through reading the NO NO NO  YES YES YES book.  I think it is a must read for everyone.  NO NO NO you do not pull the cat's tail.
