Desert Sun Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Desert Sun  © Laurie Pace 2010      © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Desert Sun   Size:30 x 40  Oil on Canvas. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is the matching piece. For some reason I remembered it differently....but you can see the match of the colors. This painting went to Mirada Fine Art in Denver and sold that year as well. Looking back I find strength in the Contemporary layout of this horse painting. With the cross tucked snuggly behind and the horse woven through it, the canvas is just divided off center to create interest with the eyes. As I mentioned yesterday, this is completed with 'scraped paint' from what I originally started with, which was a herd of horse gone wild. Lazy hands make for poverty,     but diligent hands bring wealth. Proverbs 10:4 #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter.

Morning Hunt, Contemporary Wolf Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

     © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Morning Hunt 30 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas.  Available through Mirada Fine Art  Contact Steve here. Wolves I do not paint often but this week I will be doing one more of my horizon wolves for Mirada as well.  I am allowing this contemporary wolf painting to HANG around as I make changes and update it here and there.  He has so many layers I lost count. The paint will literally take weeks to cure to ship to Steve at Mirada Fine Art, but that is where it is committed to as of this day. I am posting it early but it will not have too many more additions to it. So much of my art is missed in these two dimensional images as the knifed paint has ridges and thickness like buttery icing on the canvas. It is something to experience in person. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;

Whirlwind Progress of Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

     © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Whirlwind 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas. Available. Email me here. I took the time to hand paint some verses from 2 Kings 2 across the bottom of the painting. I will know they are there and it strengthens me to paint on with the spirit of the writing.  With the second image I have begun to use my oils and my palette knife pulling patterns and colors throughout the contemporary horse painting. I miss working with my oils and knife. It is like icing a cake!  And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. 2 Kings 2:10 Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards    GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO.

FORM is the third Element of Art by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Third Art Lesson The Seven Elements of ART Line, Shape, FORM Form is usually the element my younger students love. Basically form is dimensional.  Form is a three-dimensional geometrical figure.  Where you normally have a circle, in form it is a sphere.  Where you have a square, in form you have a cube.   My images shared will be from a simple project.  If you want to get fancy, do some carving, paper mache or anything that dimensionally builds shape. You can actually still do a two dimensional painting and use a palette knife and build up layers, and presto... you have form.  You can also do mixed media and have things pasted and gessoed onto the surface and that counts as form as well.  Working with mixed media is always fun. Collaging and using different papers and objects to create art is very exciting.  Try and do some different types of art that allow you to use FORM. I went into the studio to figure out something to share for an exercise besides car

Mirada has a broad collection of  Laurie Pace’s  signature equine paintings. The weather is finally a bit cooler from the 100 degree plus days... down to the low nineties. It will not stay long, but we will enjoy it as it is.  This weekend is more birthdays for us to celebrate. So studio time will not be had until Monday.  I have been putting off a new painting for my youngest grandson, Mark Edward, who is about 5 months old now.  I promised them a painting for his nursery and have had something in mind and will be starting on some sketches pretty soon. I will share my process as this will NOT be a contemporary piece, but an impressionistic painting that I hope he will have with him throughout his life.  Good will come
no. 7 Hearing the Call Contemporary Modern Art Palette Knife Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 x 2 inches of THICK buttery oils applied with a palette knife. Contact me for more information: Laurie How did it get to be six thirty already? I have been sitting here an hour and just now blogging. I had to make my way through a truck load of email. That is how. Okay so I was surprised this morning. As I set out to meditate and pray and read in my bible about what to write about this morning I read "Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbors in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbors." Deuteronomy 15:11 I am (Pardon the pun) "Hearing the Call". In contrast at night I am still reading "Setting Boundaries for your Adult Children". Humm, they are indeed my neighbors in trouble, but somehow I have to set some boundaries here. I can't help but wonder if the Lord thinks that about us sometimes. When the Israelites settled
