I painted this for the youngest daughter of my dearest best friend in my life. Take the Netflix Series, Firefly Lane and start it with us being young moms with small children. Life was always better together and especially with Charlene and our kids. I cannot leave out MaryEllen Maddox. She was the dearest of our 'Nanny' members of our family. She was a student from Stephen F Austin State University and she helped with my children while I worked or had classes. My degree was finished but I wanted to teach and had to take some extra credits. MaryEllen was the best! We were all slightly crazy. "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8 This painting began with light palette knife sweeps in rich colors of browns, deep reds, and golds. I knew right away it would be horses and I began turning and rotating the canvas to find the silhouettes of the horses in the paint.  They stood out strongly to my eye and I could feel the wind in their face.  Preparing for the Keller Public Art Show, I was blessed to visit The Dutch Art gallery in search of frames for several of my paintings. The year was 2008 I do remember painting this beauty above- the horse. A one and only. One of my favorite collectors bought it even before I put it online in my store. She always checked my blog as I would post in process pictures of what I was working on! Not sure what took me this direction, but that was the joy of painting back in that day.   Posting work in an auction situation.  The work always calls to a heart or two or three and it allowed the paintings to sell and me to paint more. I loved the home we lived in there. Plenty of room and large ones too... on two acres with a creek on the back. This is where I put down my brushes and Impressionism and took up a knife with my buttery oil paints. Again you see lots of red with orange and yellow. Contrast built with accents of blue and green and purple. Opposites on the color wheel.     It was
