I did one in three canvas pieces making one nine feet in width.  The paintings were to be centered around a Texas theme, horses and the land. No people.  I did the series with well known rivers in Texas, this was the first piece completed, San Jacinto Gathering.  You can watch the video of the making and my painting in action  Here .  If you are interested in a commission, I would love to work with you. On my website I explain the process and it includes you being a part of the entire process as it happens. Read more here.  “ And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almight

Out of the Calm Waters, Women are strong and resilient.

None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.” Jane Austen We are weaving into another contemporary horse painting done at the same time as the last watering hole. The colors seem to be where my heart was as I continued using that palette. Dee  Love the quote today. Women have much strength and resilience. Some do not even realize how deep it is woven within them.  Our Father created woman with all her gifts to be a strong mate for Adam.  It does not seem to matter the 'generation' you were born in or the circumstances of the times, we were hand crafted by God.  I know the women in our family have generous hearts and are capable of almost anything. Sometimes we sell ourselves short, or step back w

Play themselves out to be forgotten the next day, while the river flows on." Milan Kundera  The Unbearable Lightness of Being Do you ever worry about your personal safety?  Do you worry about your children, your adult kids, your grandchildren, your parents... do you fear that they could be hurt in some way? Do you believe Satan may be laying for you or your family?  Are you worried about this country with all the conflict in Washington? God does not want us to feel that dread.  It is a wide swing here from the river bank to fa

"The cold abyss of oneself"...  For me writing and art and music...the three gifts I have been graced with, are not about me, but about the celebration of the Father who chose them for me.  It is only through him that I can find my path through my work, be it writing, playing music or painting. Creating is for this artist, a powerful charge of the Holy Spirit within me coming out in words by mouth or through my hands on my guitar, piano or with my paint brushes or palett

It can be physical with our bodies or something hurting deep inside of our mind or heart.  It is a fact that times in life are uncertain. I have written often, the only thing you can count on is change in our lives. Pain is part of that change.  What if life is stagnant?  What if your pain is caused by indecision or inactions? God designed us to grown and learn by our life choices. All growth comes with

Milne   Beneath the branches... beneath the bridge... beneath the stars... God's beauty surrounds us. We should instantly be reminded of Him... He surrounds us with His gifts and creation. Sometimes I wonder how I can forget how He is part of me constantly with all the reminders. He is aware of everything that takes place in our lives. He knows our thoughts before they form in our mind. He knows the words before we speak them.

The one that holds my attention the most was "Take your hands off your life".  Whatever you are facing, juggling, or trying to resolve, stop and take your hands off and disengage your problem solving skills.  How can something so simple be so hard? " True faith is living without scheming. "      In the verse below that has those precious words we have heard thousands of times, BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD...    The Hebrew word translated "be still" actually means "take your hands off."
