When you go to sleep tonight, think about the story you want to have unfold in your life tomorrow. Only you have the power to change your own story and what is happening in your life. Only you can change your world and possible the entire world. Only you can make new habits by doing new things and giving up the old destructive ones.  What can you do different tomorrow?  Smile more? Laugh more? Live

Florida Sunrise Painted Ponies by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Contemporary Horse Paintings

Florida Sunrise   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014 Florida Sunrise by Laurie Pace  Size: 15 x 30   Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  My cousin was here from Florida with her lovely granddaughter. We spent time all over Dallas and also time with the guitar, harp and in the studio painting horses. From our trips to the beach in Florida, the blues of the water and the brilliant blue skies and bright yellow sun plays through my memory bank providing colors for this Painted Pony Pull.  It is unusual because it is the count of 8 ponies and I usually paint odd numbers.  Just seem to fit better as I worked across finding horses in the paint.  His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.   Habakkuk 3:4  #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter. Horse 50 After the Afternoon Rain, Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Horse 50 After the Afternoon Rains by Laurie Pace © 2014 Horse 50 After the Afternoon Rains  Size: 9 x 12  Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The storm blew in so quickly it caught us off guard.  We have had such a drought situation that rain was a word only whispered and remembered from another time in another decade or another universe. North Texas is in extreme drought. As the storm broke mid afternoon the thunder roared and the rain blew out of the southeast almost diagonally like millions of sharp arrows hitting the two story windows in our family room.  The storm lasted about 90 minutes before it lessened and began to dissipate.  I knew I felt like painting and hurried into the studio just as the four o'clock afternoon sun broke through the clouds and the entire yard was filled with vivid colors from the garden, the roses and the green lawn. The inspiration ended up here. The canvas began with a layer of pink, white

Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Rustic Herd 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas.  Available at Robert Kelly Home Gallery   I could not get a well lit image as darkness hit last night as I finished. I adjusted the lighting so here it is. This is one of my painted pony horizon herds heading to Park City Utah.  They ask for earth tones and they got earth tones. A little bit of jewel tones accent here and there on this contemporary Horse Painting.   #horsepaintings Stacey and I downloaded the HGTV app for decorating and have had a blast finding our our personal styles along with over 200 home images to prompt creative decorating ideas. It is called FOLIO by HGTV.  We both recommend it.   I will try and keep some images coming on the blog as I strike out and do something different and more daring in my home decorating.  "And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth." Night Runner   12 x 18 inches Oil on Canvas.   Well, I was going to pull straight through, but Terry walked in and was ready to leave for a Whole Foods run. I do not like to miss those at all. I was into a lavender and prussian blue mood as I began to pull this small version of the Painted Ponies. These horses are tied to my heart and have been since 2006. See the finished painting tomorrow. The Thought :  I am still tired from our trip yesterday. We drove up to Bonham for Terry's dad's VA visit and to see my Dad, who is there with Alzheimers. It is an all day trip from 8:30 in the morning until we arrived home after five last night.  I worked until 8pm and gave up finally to head to the shower and bed.  My blog is short this morning, as I have something special in the brew today and maybe tomorrow I will reveal more... it is something every artist needs to do... and I pray I am able to carry it off!   That should keep you guessing.... I will either do it 100 percent or I won't do it at all.  Prayers are requested. I call this "perfect fit".
