Horse 54 Summer Twilight, Contemporary Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Horse 54 Summer Twilight by Laurie Pae Horse 54  Summer Twilight   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size: 9 x 12  Mixed Media on Canvas Board Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Always fun to do mixed media pieces. This has in the background pages from a western novel. Over that are rubbed layers of glazing and then acrylic on the top surface. I only do a few of these with a touch of realism to offer something other than abstract.  Maybe these horses will be more collectible because they are rare for me...who knows.  If it calls to your heart, visit the site on the link above to see if it is still available. Horse 52 Full Moon Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Full Moon by Laurie Pace Horse 52 Full Moon    © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size: 12 x 12 Oil on Canvas.  Close ups can be seen on the Available paintings tab below. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Love these small contemporary horse paintings I am doing toward my 100 small horse paintings this year. They are beautiful when framed and hung. I just heard from a near by collector that came to meet me and pick up her painting, that it was framed and she shared a picture with me: She bought FAN DANCE from me and came by to pick it up and the next week took it to be framed.  It really looks stunning in this double frame with inset blue and a soft white on the outside. Thank you Laurie Rose for sharing this.    Think about picking one up to collect this year that is your favorite and get it framed and hung in a spot to enjoy in your home or office. #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pac

Mountain Herd Wild Appaloosa, Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Acrylics seem to be more like margarine.  These "painted pony pulls" were created in 2006. From a nude to horses they came and evolved. Each one has it's own personality and individuality. From colors to the actual pull and blend of paint, they all stand strong as contemporary horse paintings. Today we are celebrating my husband's birthday!  I discovered him at age 11, and life gets better and more interesting every single year. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  1 Corinthians 13:4 #horsepainting  #l

Desert Sun Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Desert Sun  © Laurie Pace 2010      © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Desert Sun   Size:30 x 40  Oil on Canvas. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is the matching piece. For some reason I remembered it differently....but you can see the match of the colors. This painting went to Mirada Fine Art in Denver and sold that year as well. Looking back I find strength in the Contemporary layout of this horse painting. With the cross tucked snuggly behind and the horse woven through it, the canvas is just divided off center to create interest with the eyes. As I mentioned yesterday, this is completed with 'scraped paint' from what I originally started with, which was a herd of horse gone wild. Lazy hands make for poverty,     but diligent hands bring wealth. Proverbs 10:4 #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   Subscribe to my studio update newsletter.

First images on the easel of ON THE LAMB, Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie pace

Robert Kelly Home Gallery Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Okay, tomorrow I will post the final painting of ON THE LAMB.  This is a sneak preview of where I stopped to sleep after a ten hour day straight.  This is really a different combination of palette colors but I now it is changing right now as I just cannot stop without a balance of hot and cold with the green as strong as it is in the composition.  Did you ever think about reinventing yourself?  My Dad always said sometimes you have to fake it till you make it.  Establishing new habits is often hard at any age. But you have choices on who you are, what you stand for, and what life experiences make up your life and your journey. Don't get stuck in the past. Be brave and do something new. Make Changes.  You can live life on your terms and not base it

Spring Princess by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Horse Painting and the unexpected.

Spring Princess   © G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace   Graphics One Design 2014 Spring Princess  Size:20 x 30  Oil on Canvas SOLD. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  One of the horse rescues I support in South Dakota often shares photos with me and this was one of the horses she allowed me to paint. Obviously it is not the typical abstract, but more realism creeping through.  It sold right away as I finished the painting. There are many styles of painting and it is always a stretch to try something totally opposite from the norm.  I am beginning to think more like a kid the older I get.  What if I just want to drop it all and do something unexpected?  It might actually be fun.  Seems like Terry and I get stuck in a rut and we have forgotten how to have a 'blast'.   I know I just finished a painting that I will be posting this weekend entitled "On the Lamb".  I was totally out of the box on this one. Stacey was over and just watched c

Appaloosa in the Wind, Contemporary Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Appaloosa in the Wind  Size: 24 x 30  Oil on Canvas. Contemporary Horse Paintings Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is one of my top ten favorites as well. It is at Davis and Co Gallery in Houston.  http://www.dandcgallery.com  Color and design are the strong points in this painting. It is not for the meek of heart.  I feel more men are drawn to it because of the strength, but many women like the mystery of the work. There is a gentle presence with the stance of the horses calm in the movement surrounding them. Often when our lives are in turmoil we begin to wonder what to do to calm things down.  We loose energy wrestling with what we could have done differently and slowly we begin playing that blame game.  In actuality there is a gentle presence with us all the time... God is there through it all. If we can slow the blame game down and open our heart and mind to

Contemporary Horse Painting Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Didn't recognize the flowers? Rotate the canvas clockwise one turn of the square and it begins to fall in place. If you have time click through to the available paintings to see the close ups on this one as they are incredible. With it being a painting built on a painting the layers lend to a depth not often seen in painted artwork.  The little centered part of the green on the horses face is central to the contrast of the red throughout the painting. The blue does the same with the orange. I truly loved changing and evolving with this painting. Trusting in God all the time as you evolved is not easy. We see our friends or family in stressful situations and we wish we could change them. We often find ourselves wanting to push a 'restart' button when we

Horse 47 Facing the Light Contemporary Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 47 Facing the Light  Size: 12 x 12  Oil on Canvas. Contemporary Horse Painting Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  As I painted Facing the Light ... I decided to keep this painting uncomplicated. It has thick layers of oil and movement with texture. It does not have a complicated layout... it is simply woven together. The joy was in the simplicity. We often search for something or someone to make us happy. Same with artists painting on a surface... constantly looking for that perfect painting. Does perfection come from something outside of ourselves? This is when we should turn inward and look for the discontentment and what is behind the discontentment.  Something is lacking inside of us.  The circumstances in life do not define us.  As an artist they do not define our art unless we are using those circumstances to communicate our feelings and express it directly onto

Horse 48 Uneasy Ride Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 48 Uneasy Ride  Size:8 x 8  Oil on Canvas Panel. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Raw paint. Uneasy edges. Patterns of paint colliding together weaving into the surface of this panel. It is there among the texture.  A horse painting emerges... easily but with the flow of paint, I entitled it 'uneasy ride'.  First time painters initially struggle to bring content and paint to the canvas. With each day they gain confidence and strength in working with their oils. The biggest hurdle is not to copy or use an image (photo or painting) of another artist.  When you realize as a painter that the surface of that canvas holds unlimited ideas, you have arrived. This blank canvas holds the surface of a new world, a new creation... a new painting.  If painting becomes a struggle and not an adventure, it is time to change your perspective. Walk away from whatever is limiting you.
