I did the one above and a small collage of hearts on old pages of Scripture.  We sat with Patty and Bo Pilgrim and enjoyed visiting and talking about art, painting, church, airplanes etc. I think we covered a lot of territory over dinner and dancing. I am anxious to see some of Patty's artwork.  She is five years into using oils but before did portrait painting and china painting.  The Holy Spirit was at the table last night as we shared our faith through out the evening. The MC was Mark Scrito from ABC Affiliate in Tyler, KLTV 7 Chief Meteorologist, and he was absolutely the best part of the evening, h

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: This was painted in June 2008.   It is a layering of antique music from late 1800's and early 1900's from my grandfather's music collection. The next layers are varnish and painting and more varnish and painting.  The Thought:  I was sitting at the table this morning watching the birdfeeders and I chuckled and said to Terry, "We have new customers."  He laughed back and said "Not new customers, but patrons of the seed." Here are these two bird feeders (Three if you count the hummingbird feeder) that I keep filled with fresh seed.  It is selfish of me to do it because I love watching ALL the different kind of birds that flock to it all day long.  Some specie

Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:   Mixed Mediums in varnish overlays on canvas. Part of my limited edition of Antique Music Practice paintings. The Thought:   Practice Practice Practice. How often did my mother tell me to do that from second grade on?  I always had my favorite songs I wanted to play and she would buy me the sheet music but I had to practice those old stuffy composers.  That is how I felt about them then.  I paint by their compositions now. Practice is something that helps us develop new habits in our lives .  When you are wanting to lose weight, you have to practice practice practice eating a bit less and exercising a bit more.  It does not happen over night.  It is simply practice practice practice. If you want to learn to speak in front of a group of people and you
