“Flame and shadow. One cannot exist without the other.” ― Victoria Aveyard, Red Queen

So with the theme of the show being the Calm after the Storm, it pulled me into you cannot have the calm if you don't have the storm.  It is that Yin Yang thing.  Love/hate; tears/laughter; sad/happy; day/night.  I think you get my point.  So in the painting I am thinking of contrasting things. Each horse had to have something that makes them apart and unique from the others. What is a painting without contrast?  Pretty dull.  Meet the Red horse just breaking from the storm.  Life/death.

"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame". Song of Songs 8:6
