"I once bought my kids a set of batteries for Christmas with a note on it saying, toys not included." Bernard Manning

This was the title and theme of my December newsletter. I had an immediately email from Dawn Waters Baker, a fellow Texas painter that said,

"I know it's crazy at Christmas but this was a nice reminder how God has us. May you have a lovely Christmas Laurie. Thank you for serving others in any way God leads you. Bless you and may your days be filled with songs!"

It made me look.  It made me look at what I had written because I truly did not remember how 'Godly' the monthly newsletter was at all.  Is that sad?   I know it was done in a hurry like everything else is done in December, IN FACT... I am watching an auction on ebay in the last seven minutes of ending while typing this. OH that is really sad.  :(

Then I started to think about it differently. I climbed out of the Studio Box I live in, and looked at the words, "Toys not included."   God does give us the 'batteries' for life, and he does not include the toys.   Our Batteries are His constant LOVE.   He is our eternal provider, always supplying what we need before we realize we need it. He does not include a promise to provide the newest car, home or playthings...but he does promise to provide everything we need.  His word guides us through life, but His love gives us the power to continually move forward in faith that He will provide.

I am back, OH I left a few moments. I won the auction.  Happy Dance, as it is a beautiful antique quilt with shades of pink tulips and green stems and leaves.  Estimated about 1945 to 1950 era.  Every Christmas Terry lets me gaze starry eyed and lovingly on ebay to find a quilt. I have always chosen well and now have quilts that were all hand quilted by loving women across the US from about 1930 and up.

So my Christmas Quilt is on it's way to its new home. Cookies will be made this week and I am still debating those old Christmas cards.  Do you still send them? I think I will take the money I spend on cards, postage and that yearly newsletter and donate it to the angel tree.

Ephesians 2:4-5  "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—"

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
