Summer Horse

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Summer Horse Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Summer Horse reminds me of August every year.  The days are growing shorter and hurricane season is upon us along with top temperatures in August.  This painting is done in Palette Knife with Holbein Duo Oil paints ...  my go to paint for 25 years now.  Enjoy this  beautiful white horse which seems to be running to the sunshine.    Sometimes I look at these paintings and think, what color came first?  Can you decide?  Lamentations 3:31-32   For no one is cast off by the Lord forever.  Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.   May your Sunday be blessed from the smallest to the largest of blessings you discover. The Lord is walking with you... and before you.   I just posted on FB " The Happiness of your life depe...

Sweet Filly

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Sweet Filly Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Saturday Morning in Texas!  The heat is rising. Our attic exhaust fans are on 24 hours a day now. Saturday Morning in Texas!  The heat is definitely up. Hubby has the attic fans going 24 hours right now, but last night was in the seventies... usually we are eighties. Last August we had three weeks of rain which provided a beautiful fall foliage on our red oaks .    When choosing a painting to put on the blog this morning, this is a favorite smaller piece I did as a commission years back.  I put a higher resolution up for you to really appreciate the palette knife used in my work.  Sweet horse painting has quite a bit of pink, coral, accented with greens and blues and mixed colors in between... dashes of purple and literally chunks of white play throughout the weave of knife strokes. Palette Kni...

Greeting the Day

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Greeting the Day Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Nothing like a good stretch every morning.   This was a commissioned horse painting, 18 x 27 inches in size. I had chills when I opened the file to add it to my blog this morning. Can you feel the power of my palette knife??  I am currently working with a brush on a large 36 x 36 canvas.   The next painting will bring me back to my knife! Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.   I cannot believe it is Friday.  I have been focused this week and the past year on a situation that still has no ending at this time. There were others responsible for what occurred and it a...

Leap of Faith

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Leap of Faith Oil on Canvas  SOLD (Mirada Fine Art)   by Laurie Pace   Stunning colors in Leap of Faith Horse Painting!   Fast blog this morning... a painting and a verse from my heart. The day is already at 10 am. Many things to do this day and I have to focus on the needs right now.  I am painting.  Working on a commission... I decided not to really post it in progress as the buyer really keeps things personal.  Maybe as I finish it, but I do not know yet.  It is 36 x 36 inches of oils... and the next one will be 36 x 48 with knife and oils!   Isaiah 30:15  "This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it."    If I were going to comment... it would be to rest in the quietness and trust. Stop your brain fr...

The Rising Star

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 The Rising Star Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   The swipe of the palette knife and the movement of color in every painting I create, bring depth and desire and life onto the canvas.  The Rising Star exemplifies the depth of beauty be it large or small in size.   Psalm 147: 4 "He counts the stars and calls them by name."    I am in the midst of working on the 30 x 30 commission, so my blog has to be short. This one is by brush and not knife and the time is multiplied considerably to work the different areas.  "There is much on my heart this day as I work. I will be praying over friends, family and offering up a prayer for you as well. The heat in Texas is in full force and hubby is fighting loosing our trees and yard because of the water conservation. Make it a beautiful Thursday. Elle Shop other Available Artwork.  Sign up for ...

Watering Hole Morning Sun

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Watering Hole Morning Sun 32 x 48 inches  Oil on Canvas  Commission - SOLD   by Laurie Pace   This gorgeous horse painting brought forth the colors of autumn in the wooded areas of Montana, Idaho and Washington state. It was a commissioned painting and I worked with the paint colors in the room and the buffet it would be hung over. A painting like this transforms repeatedly through the process. The photo below was 75 percent through the painting, but it was still NOT right. Each horse went through changes... and the woods behind had double changes...and the water was the last horizon to cross.  It is this last push that takes a painting over the edge of disaster mess to "THIS IS IT!" .  No different that in life when you hit the wall, rest and lean into God. Perseverance pays off and you grow closer to the Lord. On the Easel... NOT WORKING.    James 1: ...

In the Wild

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 In The Wild Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   "In the Wild"  this horse painting was pure knife work  with layers of paint.  This would be strong in a 3 x 4 foot canvas. Patterned strokes of color, some are friends and some clash harshly.... Part of life! Psalms 27:1  The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? I am beginning a new commission piece. Yesterday afternoon I prepped the canvas with Scripture the client wanted on the foundation.  Then I use clear gesso with a bit of paint I used writing the Scripture.  The results left a heavenly feel to the surface.  Today I will be planning and partially dividing the area between sky and land... where the horses will be and the horizon and clouds, will come later. I will work ground up.  The conversation I h...
