Sweet Filly

© Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2025 Sweet Filly Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Saturday Morning in Texas!  The heat is rising. Our attic exhaust fans are on 24 hours a day now. Saturday Morning in Texas!  The heat is definitely up. Hubby has the attic fans going 24 hours right now, but last night was in the seventies... usually we are eighties. Last August we had three weeks of rain which provided a beautiful fall foliage on our red oaks .    When choosing a painting to put on the blog this morning, this is a favorite smaller piece I did as a commission years back.  I put a higher resolution up for you to really appreciate the palette knife used in my work.  Sweet horse painting has quite a bit of pink, coral, accented with greens and blues and mixed colors in between... dashes of purple and literally chunks of white play throughout the weave of knife strokes. Palette Kni...

Greeting the Day

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Greeting the Day Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Nothing like a good stretch every morning.   This was a commissioned horse painting, 18 x 27 inches in size. I had chills when I opened the file to add it to my blog this morning. Can you feel the power of my palette knife??  I am currently working with a brush on a large 36 x 36 canvas.   The next painting will bring me back to my knife! Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.   I cannot believe it is Friday.  I have been focused this week and the past year on a situation that still has no ending at this time. There were others responsible for what occurred and it a...

Bathed in Sunlight

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Bathed in Sunlight Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Sunlight... as the sun rises we all great a new day... and that was the inspiration living on Lake Cypress Springs. The colors were alway vivid and full of life. This is a small painting but not small in energy.  Galatians 6:9  "And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."   This is a crush week (I cannot be weary!) and the why I have not posted daily. We have packing for a family member going on, and figuring out storage etc.  I have washed more this week, and with the dryer deciding to pull a code, I am hanging wash on clothes lines out back. Truly smells wonderful bringing the clothes in!  Have a beautiful Wednesday. Elle  Shop other Available Artwork.  Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. In the Wild

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 In The Wild Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   "In the Wild"  this horse painting was pure knife work  with layers of paint.  This would be strong in a 3 x 4 foot canvas. Patterned strokes of color, some are friends and some clash harshly.... Part of life! Psalms 27:1  The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? I am beginning a new commission piece. Yesterday afternoon I prepped the canvas with Scripture the client wanted on the foundation.  Then I use clear gesso with a bit of paint I used writing the Scripture.  The results left a heavenly feel to the surface.  Today I will be planning and partially dividing the area between sky and land... where the horses will be and the horizon and clouds, will come later. I will work ground up.  The conversation I h...

Here Comes the Sun

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Here Comes the Sun Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Just in from outside and realized I need to blog this morning.  Here Comes the Sun is an explosive color horse painting with layers piling on layers. I have painted this weekend on the portrait I was working on but may have to play with color shortly!   My grandson follows Emily Frisella on Instagram and he shared it with me this morning.  I truly enjoyed her posted list for her birthday this year. The most prominent thing is I am not doing weight resistance and I need to start doing that slowly. I walk 3 miles most mornings in 45 min or less. As you know we eat a whole foods plant based diet and there are MANY athletes out there eating this way. 15 years into it now. It is time my friends. How about you? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within ...

Summer Horse 22 (2012)

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Summer Horse 22 (2012) 8 x 10 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Summer Horse 22... love the blue almost periwinkle background and the slicing in of browns and oranges on the pony's body... bring it tightly together. The splash of sunlight takes you eye out of the painting.  There were small piece and so much fun to get up every morning and post the painting from the day before.  Psalm 103:11  "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His love for those who fear Him."  Typical Summer weather has hit north Texas.  We had massive rains for the last four weeks and really nothing moving in this week but the full blast of Summer. The temp will be 91-94 but the feels like will be well over 100.  Terry will begin watering the trees with a probe. He has his hands full trying to work on beds in the heat outside. I will be doing the 10...

Summer Painting 17 and Bloom Day 3 with Nicolas Wilton

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Summer Horse Painting 17 2012  Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   LOVING the Palette knife movement in Summer Horse Painting 17.    Truly this is totally inspiring me to start painting some tiny pieces again.    Isaiah 46: 9: "Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me." There is no other than our Almighty God. I could not get through a day or a night without Him. It has been a busy week... and lots of rain. We have a hot humid sunny day ahead.   I told Hubby he could not work in the yard.  Here in Texas you have to work early mornings before that sun really gets up mid morning sky.   I am continuing in my BLOOM class with Nicolas Wilton and thousands of others... and oh my ... I PAINTED a pink painting yesterday. That is probably a first.  Pink......
