It is happening....

There is something different happening in the studio right now… and I can feel it.

I stepped back in with oils and my palette knife, and it was immediate — that familiar rhythm returned. The weight of the knife in my hand, the push and pull of paint across the surface… it felt like coming home.

This time, I didn’t plan.

I opened a fresh tube of paint — and of course it made a mess, oil spilling before color — but I didn’t stop. I just kept going. Color after color, laid down and moved instinctively across the canvas. No hesitation. No overworking. Just motion.  Nothing to connect you to on a blog... you can visit my website and see on the front page what I just started... and hope to finish in the later hours tonight.

Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Gathering... The Good People are Gathering. Figurative Palette Knife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace
