This one almost made me cry.  I took off in one direction determined to paint something a certain way...sort of like that nude in 2006 that turned into the first running group of ponies... and as I finished this painting I walked away from it disgusted and not liking what was there.  I returned in the morning to the easel and began pulling the paint and it was startling to see the brilliance on the far left corner fading into the vivid reds on the left bottom... and then how magically the wood appeared behind on the top center and right top... and green on the lower right... and then the horses began to appear. There are 13 to be counted on the painting and some faintly imaging behind them in the distance.

I knew when I shot the photos of it I would love it or hate it... and as I looked at it on the screen it was one of those... "I Painted This?" moments.  Like how? How did those colors fall just in the right places?  It was another prior painting pulled into motion.  So that was the birth of the Falling into Winter Herd above.  I just finished it yesterday morning.  I am going to have prints available on FAA... you can click here to see them.

God seems to have a way of making something special out of things we think we have literally turned upsidedown.  When things seem irreversible and unsolvable, that is when He does the best work in our lives. (And in my paintings)

Believe today that He is working behind the scenes to make it all come together. Not always the way we expect it. Not always with what we view the best ending. Not always in what we determine to be a happy ending...but most assuredly if we believe we will endure, grow and find peace in what we have in our lives.   Everything we need is here for us.

Abundance is yours.

It has to head to Mirada Fine Art in about three or four weeks... meanwhile it will be banished to the room with the dehumidifier in it.  Stay tuned at Mirada Fine Art with Steve Sonnen for more details about what is happening to this "crowd" from my Good People Series.  In fact, drop Steve an email and ask to be added to the mailing list for this special gathering.  Good food, good friends and good art.   What more could you want? A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
