24 X 36 inches of color explosion!

Greetings from the studio. I have been out of town for a few days but returned to try and catch up yesterday! Packing and shipping out paintings I stayed busy until late and I began this painting then. I worked until late last night and then this morning I finished it up. Appealing to the primal beginnings of time and the raw beauty of the horse, my palette drew itself to a red horse standing proudly in the center of the canvas.

"I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secrue. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord." Psalms 40:1-3

Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did.
