Travel Tomorrow three paintings are heading to Colorado to Mirada Fine Art Gallery in Denver.  The show opens the weekend of Thanksgiving!!  This is not one of them... but just a teaser to stay tuned.  I found this piece to repost from 8 years ago and fell in love with it again. I will have to get past this blocked situation and get to work again! If you have not signed up for my newsletter on my website, it comes out maybe three to four times a year. Mainly for sales.  We all get too much email in our in boxes daily, and will not risk you deleting things from me!  Most of you know you can see what it happening on my Google Blog right here!  Time seems to escape me daily... and I look forward to falling back in a routine again soon.  Do you have a set routi

I have learned to wait and if it seems good today and tomorrow and maybe in a few weeks... then act on it!  I am exploring both in painting and in writing thinking more abstractly I would say.   Blast of Blue was a good lead for me to test skills and it will take a few more like this.  I need to be even more basic.  Will try another direction tomorrow with a cradled Panel.  Thinking these will all be $199 right now as I experiment and take this journey. You will be right here next to me as we go. I know what the knife does... I want to try more things as I go. Abduction is a good word. Don't think of it's first meaning, look at its second meaning. Maybe some of the third meaning too.   abduction:  noun 1. The act of a

Letting Go Our summer finally ended. Yesterday morning the winds switched from the south (we have been at 80 degrees for a week, down from 90-95 the week before) and with the north wind zooming in, Fall officially arrived with a cold freeze last night. It was 31 this morning but felt like mid twenties.  BLAST OF BLUE! I am working on a large canvas and this small one today . I have written often about 'getting in the way of the painting' and over controlling the paint itself. It works rarely when you do this. When you tightly paint or over compensate for what the subject is, you tend to lose the freshness of painting and the joy of the journey.  I am feeling that way with the larger painting... so I picked up a cradled Panel board a

Claim the Future by your Faith So much going on with my birthday party last weekend on Saturday. My daughter and daughter in love gave me a 70's party. Two grands were out ill, but everyone else came and we ate 'sliders, chicken planks, something hot and Mexican in taste, air fried potatoes, malts and root beer floats!!  Well I must disclose I ate a bean burger daughter Stacey made me!!!  The cupcakes were swirled high with frosting and since it was my birthday I ate one! (see my flowers in the hair below!) Was reading today in our Bible verses, thoughts, and reflections, it talked ab

"I will always remember painting this piece . I had just started sharing my painting process on Facebook when disaster hit with Facebook and someone posting porn on my personal page and then six imposters hit my Meta account charging $9999 to my paypal account for advertising.  Talk about feeling trampled as FB froze me in every direction allowing those imposters to continue business... I would walk away from the computer and begin work on this painting thinking, dreaming, canvas prep... all of it and finally as you saw in the prior posts, the journey began. It is done and all through the power of God and not me. I felt lost a few times in the middle of it and He pressed me forward. I hope you enjoy it.  "  Social Security Dang, I could never

Why is it at the end of every day I can think of 100 things to write and share pertaining to life, love, family and painting, but at 11 am... my brain is still trying to make sure I finished what I needed to do this morning!.  This would be why I always blogged the night before and posted it to release in the early morning hours. Something to be said about 'the old days'.  Launching into November. Feels officially like fall is here when we reach the first of November. The trees in Texas rarely turn with color.  Our elm in the front yard is getting its tiny yellow leaves and the red oaks in the back are still green!  I do believe the fall colors are part of the painting I have been working on over the past three weeks ever so slowly until this week!   Change is good
