Milne, When We Were Very Young The Painting I chose to reach out to the past and the Painted Ponies that began in 2006. This is a brand new very wet painting.  I am collected world wide for this style. Fresh colors on the palate with golden hue. With repetitive long strokes with my palette knife, the beauty of the yellow blended over golds and whites brings joy and smiles. The paint is layered thick - up to 1/2 inch in places.  Will take a few weeks to cure. Love the color of the paint!  Click the painting if you are interested in seeing more of it close up.

The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something. That there is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting fo

You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about..”  Haruki Murakami,  Kafka on the Shore. The Painting Her favorite place is Disney. It was a fun week adventure exploring this large painting. Her favorite dress with a cute curtesy and a smile was brought to life on the canvas. The haze of the background gives way to dreams at night before you fall asleep.  Forever young.  Grandchildren are a blessing and our future. The Story The sermon Robert Morris (from Gateway Church) shared with us today touched us both.   The Verse a

After all, weren't we all frightened as children? Nothing has changed since Little Red Riding Hood faced the big bad wolf. What frightens us today is exactly the same sort of thing that frightened us yesterday. It's just a different wolf. This fright complex is rooted in every individual.” Alfred Hitchcock The Painting Dawn Rises... and the wolf knows it is time to be hidden again, or does he? The toss of the wolf's head gazing at the growing light between the trees in the forest shows a sense of awareness and caution. This painting built from the bottom surfaces covered in dark blues and dark grays with slits of white where the gold settled. Looking back on the beginnings, I have decided I will be painting a dark blue wo

Morning Wolf...Wet but ready to post online!  Painting on birch with deep sides, I laid out beautiful glazes of oils layering up the texture in the final painting. This was a good 17 day process with the last colors added, the blues.  It always surprises me how beautiful the glazing is on birch.    The Predator in your Life Why is it we do not see the predator in our lives that intends to harm us or our friends and family until it is too late? If you think about it, a predator is usually wise to the 'game' they play. They can spot the weak

Life is too short to waste your time on people who don’t respect, appreciate, and value you. Spend your life with people who make you smile, laugh, and feel loved.” Roy T Bennett  The Light in Heart The Painting This was one of my smaller Painted Pony Pulls of color.  The colors rock the scale with the bright yellow heating up the composition and the reds slicing up next to the yellow.  The action lies in these primary colors and secondary colors all working the surface.  I would love to paint one just for you in your fav colors!
