This little gem started with the orange reds in the top corner but I decided I did not want so much orange and pulled in blues whites and pinks.  Yellow came later.  The paint was piled so thick I could draw and carve in it finding edges and lines for my horse. This one really makes me smile!  This is one of those least expected surprised in painting.  I am thankful for each new discovery and the time to create and play.  There is no limit...creativity is limitless. When you try to drive in a thick fog, you strain your eyes to see through the misty haze, using more intuitive awareness than actual visual awareness.  Scary isn't it? This little collectors piece edges on my Black and White series in miniature. As the paint fell to the surface I felt the movement of the horse more than I actually saw it. My heart knew what to do before my vision did. Learning to trust your intuitive awareness is often difficult. Be centered in your life. Be guided by peace and

Standing back and coming forward. Debating sizes and places. Deciding on sprinkle colors and wanting to bring the eye into the weave of the pattern of buffalo crossing the land. This is the stage after the blues and violets were painted.... Then came the sunrise on the mesa. The book is "Haunted Mesa" by Louis L'Amour.  I often used L'Amours paperback novels as the underlying coats before I begin to paint.  I wanted this piece to have a complete feeling from the beginning to end. The day after, I took the canvas up to my studio and began to work with my favorite colors.  Blues and purples and violets.... building into shadows and shapes.   The next few days you get to feel like a part of t

Have not painted since I left working on a 4 x 4 ft buffalo. This is a small collectible, just to get my blood pumping again.  Told you there were happenings here at the house. There are, and I promise to be forthcoming in the next few days.  Life changes are always challenging and this one will be for some time ahead. An art group I am a member of is challenging us to painting 30 Days straight if possible. I doubt I will make

Caught something cold flu like that sent me to bed. Now the cough weakens me by late afternoon and keeps me awake some of the night. Needless to say one does not get much painting done like this. A beautiful painting when I look at this image now, but one that was turned into more horses. This one I regret changing. This one I would have hung in my home.  No, I did not save it... I changed it. It sold as horses but only I know the true spirit of the painting. Only I know I was offered money for this as a flower painting.  Spring and summer brings flowers that open to the sunlight.  Rich soil and new leaves are nourished and refreshed by rain.
