Longhorn Two Painting Continues on my easel. 40 x 40 x 2 Oil on Canvas ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      The best laid plans we have do not always work. As kids, those card houses never stood long either. I borrowed the cards from another blog. You may click them to visit it. God will continue to work around us and sometimes we end up going places the wrong direction but it is needed to get back to Him. In other words, there are some experiences we are to have to learn who we are. Only then will we discover the direction for our lives. In these wiser years I am beginning to be very hesitant on pushing ahead with any ideas before praying about it.  Best to turn to Him before doing anything. You do not want to build another house of cards. God is needed for the foundation of everything we do. Words of my heart, Laurie A Texas Artist Laurie

Make a joy list this morning. Focus on the happy things, the simple things and the things you do have.   During the day make a point to shift your focus when you encounter pain or frustration.  Put on your favorite music, or start singing your favorite song in your head. Make yourself go in a different direction.

Steve Sonnen has a gorgeous gallery there, Mirada Fine Art,  actually located in Indian Hills just west of Denver. It is a blessing to me to have my work go to a new home and be cherished. So much love and prayer goes into every piece, they are literally part of me when they leave my home.  Empowered by God, With every change in life, every move we make, in everything we do, we are given the gift of insight with the experience. Many of us miss the 'insight' and cling to the experience without a second thought. We are caught up emotionally. God is the constant in our lives that empowers us through His word, His affirmations, His creation... through everything around us. Many of us mis

He has that gift of bringing out the best in everyone and making each of us feel connected with the Father. We had a quiet, meditative, gentle service yesterday with guitar, piano and new music and songs for our old minds to stretch around.  The best part for me was the prayer and as Jack put it, the bookends to our prayers with music.   Hear our Prayer Lord. Jack ask us to reflect on commun

Having lost close to 20 pounds last year and staying at the lower weight for over a year now, I really am ready to lose the last ten pounds. I seem to forget again that my body is a gift and it houses my spirit and soul for this earthly journey. My bad habits and temptations from life are always pulling on me. Somehow it bothers me at night when I climb into bed and think about the day and groan... and then in prayer in the morning KNOWING what I need to do.  Then stress will hit from somewhere during the day and

It was one of those images of yellow with printing on it and no referral to where the origin was.  The message was deep for such few letters in finding happiness: "Free your heart from hatred.   Free your mind from worries.  Live Simply.  Give more.   Expect less." Words to share, Laurie A Texas Artist Laurie Pace " If my people, who are called by my name,  will humble  themselves and pray and seek my face  and turn  from their wicked ways, then I will hear

He provides our daily bread.  We struggle with nutrition and weight, and we keep missing the picture. Do you eat to live or live to eat? The emptiness inside of you cannot be filled with ice cream and cookies, OR with margaritas or a cold beer. The stress inside of you cannot be quieted with candy bars or wine coolers. Get more basic.  Return to Him to fill the emptiness and allow Him to handle the stress.  Live to serve.  Live to praise.  Live to share His glory.

What renews you to wake this day and go about your life? What inspires you and motivates you?  Where do you spend time?   Where ever that is, the place you spend time, is what creates your frame of mind. If you are not happy or not inspired or not finding a smile on your face when you wake up... you seriously need to make some changes in your life. We get so focused in life on finishing things (I am one of the worst!) and completing a job or task that we miss out on life.  This is a wake up call to you my friend. Sunday was the day we traveled into Dallas to join family and friends in the celebration of those we had lost this year as they 'continued on'. This continuation day is the day they died. Just like the caterpillar slowly transforms into the butterfly... just as we shed our earthly bodies and transform and continue on into the energy of Heaven to be with the Father. We lost several family members this year. Lady L's grandmother Emily continued on last summer and my Dad left us in January of this year. The Presbyterian Faith Hospice of Dallas has the release of the butterflies every year for those that have transformed from
