Progression on You Raise Me Up 30 x 40 inches Acrylic  Almost done!  More layering of color on this commissioned horse painting. Tomorrow I will post what is almost the finished piece. After that it is a wait and watch to see if there are changes I want after living with it a week.    ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie       In Partnership We are spiritual beings that exist in a physical body. I find more and more as I grow older my "want to" exceeds the ability of my "can do". While this should be a partnership there are frustrating moments as in any relationship. Considering things further, each of our "beings" is in partnership with our families, our communities and the world.  Even further we are all in partnership with the universe. Working together in partnership it actually starts with your spiritual being. Praising the body that was created by

I will not get into a discussion of years, creation or timing...but I will share the story of the Sea Turtle with you. They have been around since creation and God put a plan in place in their life and they have not tampered with it. It still works. You don't try to fix things that are not broken. Movie by Dr Billie Bauman, New York The nesting ritual of the sea turtle dates back to creation when Adam named them sea turtles.  This ancient process is the same today as it was then.  When the female turtle is ready to hatch her eggs, she bobs in the surf until the waves have c

Progression Horse Painting You Raise Me Up by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on You Raise Me Up This is where music spiritual takes me with my focus on the Holy Spirit within me. My husband tells me a savvy marksman does not waste ammunition... he waits for the right shot. It is for the maximum effect... to wait and strike when the time is right. Many of us get up in the morning with our brains on overdrive for the day and a list of things to accomplish. Despite our well laid intentions, we never hit the mark one hundred percent.  We are pushing our limits and not hitting the mark. Wait upon the Lord. You are far more important to Him to use up your talents and time wastefully running in circles.  You literally make too much work for yourself when you d

Is it commitment issues? Are they worried that God will expect more of them than they can give? Roses and flowers He created for our joy. God does ask for obedience. Why? Obedience actually frees you from responsibilities to enjoy His blessings. His blessings include peace, joy, and a fulfilled life. His blessings are seen in the world around us in His creative powers and in those that follow Him. He does not always answer those desperate last minute pleas when you need something fixed.  He does more than rigging short term fixes.  He wants to 'grow you' into His grace and love so that you can find His simple abundance.

Contemporary Abstract Horse Equine Art Painting Silver's Gang by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Silver's Gang 30 x 40 inches  Oil on Canvas   This was what Brad Bisby calls the 'battlefield'. There are times when you paint you have a set direction. If I showed you where this painting was before I scrapped it twice you would laugh and definitely think it was not related. The spirit of this horse painting gives a strong definition to equine art because of the strength and passion in the 10 layers or more of oil paints. If I tried to paint something like this again... I could not ever get there. That is what makes this horse painting so unique.     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011    Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie       It is called Silver's Gang because the horses in the painting are the five horses from the Lone Ranger and Tonto when they were together. Do you keep a prayer list? Is it filled with prayer requests for friends and family? You might have some things on there tha

The Beginning Of An Equine Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

The Beginnings of an Equine Painting This is the first step of a new painting. 30 x 40 is the canvas size I am working with. The first thing I do is come up with the theme or reason for the painting other than playing in paint. I chose to paint about all the horses involved with the Lone Ranger. His first horse was Dusty. Dusty was replaced by Silver, a beautiful white horse he saved from an attacking buffalo.   Pre-Sketch for Pace equine Painting Tonto road a horse named White Fellar in the beginning, so he was actually on a white horse while the Lone Ranger road Dusty a Chestnut mare.  After Tonto gave a Chief friend White Feller, the Chief gave him a Paint Pony.  I could not find a name for this one, but the final Paint Pony Tonto rode was Scout.  The Lone Ranger had let Silver go to run free and Silver returned with Scout.  Now you have the full outlay of the horses  Home Work of the Lone Ranger and from this I  Now you have the full s

Kitchen Art Fruit Painting, Pears, Pearing Up by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Pearing Up I kept playing with more pears...they truly are perfect gifts!  Pear Paintings by Pace 5 X 7  Oil on Canvas Board  ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting  or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Times of Illness Reminders daily of friends and family that fight illness fill my prayer list. Some of you know that my summer and early fall has been challenging for both Terry and I, as I experienced a chronic health issue flaring up that literally leaves me tired, unable to do much and eventually depressed. While I was wading through this flare up at the same time I continued to pray for so many others battling cancer, back problems requiring surgery, colon issues,  pneumonia, and even death. Illness surround us in this life. When we fall ill and weakness takes over, we have to remember that the illness does not rob us of our spiritual strength, only our physical strength. There is

Pear Painting Kitchen Art by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Pear Fun Okay, I played around with this one and loved it. I may do more because it was so free to paint it. First I put a layer of color on the canvas, then drew with a brush and India Ink.  After that I worked in the oil paint and touched up a bit of the ink. Mixed Media I guess! Oil and India Ink. 9 x 12 inches  Oil on Panel, ready to frame.  ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting  or to purchase this piece: Laurie        The Good Things in Life... What are the good things in life? Popcorn at the movies? A good book and a glass of wine? A 25% raise in salary? A clean bill of health? Money back from the IRS? What about the leaks under the slab... or a broken lawn mower? Or what about that bad cold last month? It is so easy to believe the 'good things' in life are from God and to be delighted when they come our way. It is easy to pray and give thanks to Him for those 'good things.'

So I scrap and paint over it or I just layer on top of it. Beginnings are not just beginnings, they are born of endings. When things look bleak, that is when the seed has taken root and while you believe everything around you to be ending or finishing... this 'ending' is giving birth to something new for you. God opens a door ever so slightly... you have to pull all the way open and take the steps to walk out to BEGIN.  Leaving that room is the end and that first step the true beginning. This painting became this painting... OMEGA.   CLICK HERE TO SEE OMEGA and read the rest of the story. Lau
