I bet you have a favorite pair of pajamas that make your world all better too.  Eventually Lady L will learn to venture into this challenging world with out her blanket at her

I have heard it my entire life. When someone says it enough it begins to creep into your every day life.  Literally throw up your hands when you are frustrated and let go and let God. Another beautiful morning of blue skies and clouds and thankfully no smoke. Yesterday was  a day with backed up smoke from the forest fires south of us. Even last night as I took the dogs out at ten the air smelled and tasted of wood burning fires.     Is it let go and let God here too?  Yes it is. His plan is not my plan, and His way is not my way.  I have learned that many times over again.  He will care for us just as

Those seconds make minutes and those add up to days, months and years.  Moments can be filled with joy or sorrow, peace or chaos, but through it all despite discontentment or circumstance I must trust that God's hand is in everything.  I have to turn to Him.  Truly making a day would be impossible with out His presence in our lives. Some days are harder than others when the situations involve those I love and I feel so helpless to meeting their needs. I have to remind myself, only God can meet those needs not me.  In the depths of 'hell' the only source for good and light is the Father.  You will find if y

It was medium large in size and we were all inquisitive.  As she pulled the box open out erupted beautiful fabrics in every imaginable color. It was memorizing just to witness the box opening. These rich fabrics were her collection of dance costumes over the years of dancing.  After every performance her mother had carefully packed away the costume, collecting many years toge

Terry and I debated if we could chose just rain or cooler temps what would it be...and we both said rain.  God didn't agree so He sent cooler temperatures. It was the perfect morning for an early walk. When cold fronts come through the sky is very blue . His gentle touch of wispy clouds gave the feeling of lightness  as they floated in the early morning sky.  Within in hours we saw a hurricane to our eastern state and knew a cold front was coming our way. It meant no rain for us, but we will enjoy the cool mornings this week.  We watched as the rain disappeared off the radar...only 70 miles from us...close but not close enough.

Our minds will wander off into thought and we mindlessly carry on doing our chores or work. While I believe this to be an ability we need to use when we meditate, escaping from the chaos of our lives and focusing on God... I am not convinced it is something we should do daily.  You need to be alive and awake in the moment...this moment that God has given you this day. Be Conscious of the present moment.  Stay away from mindful projections of things in the future, or you will lose the precious moment you have right n

Flower Painting, Tiny Pink Roses by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

When she is slightly aggravated with a situation she knits her eyebrows, grits her teeth and begins to shake in defiance. You want to laugh but you dare not to.  On the other side, this sweet Lady L reflects much of me in her with her immediate draw to the piano within the first 60 seconds she is in the house.    From there she works her way to the harp , an instrument she was drawn to at 3 months of age. See first picture to your left.  She would crawl or scoot her way to the harp as we placed it near her blanket on the floor.  She loved reaching out with her fingertips to hear the strings sing out and echo through the house.

Abstract Figurative Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

The Wanderers 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas   Contemporary Abstract Figurative Pulled Paintings  by Laurie Justus Pace  This is where I went as I began to rework the painting and I love the results. The harsh lines are gone and the blending of the colors lead directly into individual spaces of figures. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting  or to purchase this piece: Laurie       Blending of Spirits Whenever two are more are gathered ...there is a blending of spirits.  First out of the box, I count that as God and me.  His Spirit remains with me day and night and when I am in prayer with Him, for me there is a blending of His Holy Spirit with my physical being.  How else do you have blending of the spirit? When I paint, I have to blend my spirit with His for the painting to have depth and feeling in its composition.   The next thing that pops in my mind is marriage. When two become as one, b

Abstract Figurative Horse Painting At the Races by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

At the Races? Not for long...visit back tomorrow to see where this painting journeyed to. I turned a corner and climbed out of the box again. I use to paint nudes like these only usually one per painting... but then I decided to just paint today and this is the direction it went. I want to explore it more and see what else I can do with people. Maybe the next one won't be nudes exactly but just figures. BUT it does not stay like this so come back tomorrow to see how it evolves...from here. I decided it was too harsh to abrasive for me. While it stands up well in Photoshop, I had a day to study it, I read a book or two and came back and it is different for tomorrows blog.   24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas   ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011  Sample of a nude from my collections of past paintings.    Contact me for your own commissioned painting  or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Crowded Spaces Mind Filled Races Do you ever crave peace and quiet in
